Spring Blooms Blog Hop

Glad you could hop on in for the March Spring Blooms Blog Hop. If you arrived from Rosemary Roca’s  blog you are right on track. If not, no worries, just keep hopping along to come full circle!

Daffodils are appearing everywhere so I decided to create a couple of cards with black, white & a pop of yellow! These were so much fun to design after a busy week.

I choose my Sweet Today bundle (BD-0009) as my main stamp & die set to work with. Card #1 features layers & texture.

March-Blooms-Blog-Hop-1

It is so easy to create quick, elegant cards with just a few pieces. This card features a Whip Cream base matted with 2 layers in Black Licorice & Lemon Drop. I ran the Lemon Drop layer through the Journey Grand (JG-0001) with the Petals Wall Embossing Folder (EF-0007). Two smaller mats of Black Licorice & Whip Cream form the focal point of the card popped with Journey Foam Squares (AD-0085). I stamped the sentiment in Black Licorice & added Lemon Drop stamped flowers for more interest. The die cut Lemon Drop flower with a Black Licorice & Pearl center (AC-0024) adds the perfect finishing touch.

Card #2 features a different take on the black/white/yellow theme.

March-Blooms-Blog-Hop-2

This card features a Black Licorice base with Lemon Drop & Whip Cream mats. The Whip Cream mat was stamped with a yellow flower from the Sweet Today stamp set (SS-0079) and a black flower from the Lead Me stamp set (SS-0207), creating my own stamped designer background. I then cut 2 circles the same size using the  Journey Circles Dies (DI-0039) in Black Licorice & Lemon Drop. I used the Sweet Today Flower die (DI-0016) to cut a flower center in the Black Licorice circle & mounted it on the Lemon Drop circle as a frame. I stamped the “Hello” sentiment from the Hello Amazing stamp set (SS-0210) in the center of the frame. I accented the flower frame with pearls (AC-0024) and used Journey Foam Squares (AD-0085) to mount to the center.

The fun part of blog hopping is occasionally Blog Candy is offered! This candy is for anyone who is not currently a Journey Coach. If you would like a chance to win the Bunny Tail ATS stamp along with Star Frame Elements & Sparkle Love Elements, please leave a comment below. If you are a fellow FSJ Coach please put coach or FSJ after your comment. A winner will be drawn by random on Tuesday to receive this small token as a thanks for visiting my blog.

Bloom Class, Cards, Classes, Fun Stampers Journey

February Bloom/Card Class

I still think life is trying to sidetrack me since there is so much going on in all areas. My goal is to have samples up & ready for sneak peeks a couple of weeks ahead of time and have 1-3 blog posts a week. I’ll get there.

February’s Bloom Class was lot’s of fun. We made 2 sympathy & 2 get well cards to add to our stashes. Since life has been such a ruckus, I decided to stick to the card design that we used for Angel Club. These first 2 are light & bright. Sympathy cards don’t have to be dreary & dark & Get Well cards should be bright & cheery & bring a ray of sunshine to the recipient. Since I am still on limited Fun Stampers Journey supplies, the embossing folders are from my stash. All the cards use sentiments from the Little Big Greetings stamp set SS-0052.

Feb-Card-Class-1

I used ATS stamps Rose Garden AT-0025 and Sweet Chirp AT-0104. I love the ATS Collection in the catalog. There are many choices to fit any style or occasion, they are very affordable at $7.95 and some of them have matching dies that are also affordable. This makes building a stamp collection very budget friendly & when you are hostess, you can earn these stamps for free. The Rose Garden card uses Watermelon Fusion, Pretty Amethyst & Whip Cream cardstocks & I colored the stamp & sentiment with Tombow markers. The Sweet Chirp card uses Lemon Grass, Kiwi Slice & Whip Cream cardstocks & I stamped the image with Lemon Grass  & the sentiment with Kiwi Slice fusion inks.

Feb-Card-Class-2

I have been working to include cards in each class that are more masculine or appropriate for anyone. I think these 2 cards on Oatmeal Cookie cardstock bases work well to achieve that goal. I used ATS collection stamps Artful Feathers AT-0115 (this set has feathers in 3 sizes, I used the largest) and Psalm 91:1 AT-0100 (this is a 2 stamp set that includes the bird & the scripture verse). On the Artful Feathers card I used Grape Fusion and Buttercream cardstocks. The sentiment & feather were colored with Tombow markers. The Psalm 91:1 card uses Huckleberry Fusion cardstock & ink. I stamped the bird on Buttercream cardstock & fussy cut the image out (sorry no die for this one). I also used the Journey Circle dies DI-0039 & the Journey Oval dies DI-0042 to complete these cards.

Fun, quick & easy designs with a variation on the basic card pattern means you can replenish your card stash in no time.

Have a Fabulously Creative Week!
