Farmyard Friends Birthday

Hi Angels!

I may not have gotten 2 blog posts in last week but I will the next 2, yay! I did get 2 videos in last week & hopefully will be finishing up the mixed media canvas this week. Finally making a bit of headway in my schedule & creating. I am auditioning a new project tracking system  customizable to how I work. This is week 2 & the flexibility helps when a busy day pops up & everything is in one spot so I am not tracking multiple lists. Yep, I’m a list keeper, it works for me.

Our Stamp of the Month card this week is a great card for gals or guys & a wonderful way to use scraps up & mix some patterns. I don’t often mix patterns so this card makes if fun to play with them. It’s a reverse pyramid design.  Let’s take a look.

All these prints are from The Good Life Print Paper pack except the strip at the bottom. I used the same grassy stem from last week’s card on a scrap of Sweet Pear so piggy had some grass under his feet. Adding in the Barn Wall embossing folder made the perfect backdrop.

Card Basics:

  • Chambray Shirt card base cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ & folded in half.
  • Tin Pail mat cut 4″ x 5 1/4″ & embossed with Barn Wall embossing folder. Attach to card.
  • Pattern strips are all 1 1/4″ wide & cut into the following lengths: 4 3/4″, 4″, 3 1/4″ On shorter strip, I stamped the sentiment using Chambray Shirt ink.
  • Small strip under piggy’s feet is 1/2″ x 1 3/4″ & stamped with Fresh Sage ink
  • Piggy is stamped with Fresh Sage ink on Whip Cream and die cut
  • Assemble as shown, popping each strip & piggy up with Journey Foam Squares except the “grass” under piggy’s feet.

Tip: You could easily reverse this design, shorten the strips & create a wedding or birthday cake, allowing you to use up a few more scraps in your scrap pile. Solid colors could be embossed with embossing folders to create interest & texture.

I hope this card brings a smile to your day & some ideas of using up your creative scraps.

Have a Fabulous Week!

Farmyard Friends Blessed

Hi Angels!

Welcome back to this week’s design inspiration for our Stamp of the Month Farmyard Friends.

This card features a background I did in my last Facebook video on using your dies to create stencils & masks. You can find that video here

You can tell I had a bit of fun with the swirl background when I used the masks on this background.

Here are the basics for this card:

  • Huckleberry Fusion card base cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ & folded in half.
  • Masked background mat size 4″ x 5 1/4″ on Whip Cream cardstock. Create following video info above
  • Stamp leaf grass in Limeade Splash onto masked background. And attach background to card base.
  • On Whip Cream cardstock stamp cow in Huckleberry Fusion & die cut. Pop onto card with Journey Foam Squares.
  • On Whip Cream cardstock stamp “Simply Blessed” in Limeade Splash. I use a MISTI so I can clean off the stamp andstamp again in Clear Pigment ink & emboss with my custom Clear Embossing & Sparkle Dust mix for just a bit of sparkle.  Die Cut & pop up onto card.

That’s all there is to it. Pretty simple after you get the background made and who can stop at just one great background. Make a few & see what you can create with them.

Life has just been a bit hectic here this past couple of months, still working to get back to a regular schedule. Stay tuned for a 2nd post later this week. I didn’t get a 2nd one in last week but did take a couple of days to catch my breath & regroup. Don’t forget it’s important to take care of yourself too.

Have a Fabulous Week!

Escape the Ordinary Be Brave

Hi Angels!

Today I am sharing the final installment of the September Stamp of the Month inspiration. It has been lots of fun to design with this stamp set & I hope it gives you lots of inspiration on ways to use this set. There is even a bonus card on my Facebook page if you’d like to check it out.

This card was designed for a special friend currently undergoing breast cancer treatments. She loved her card.

I knew I wanted to create a classic Pink & Black card, which fits a Pink Ribbon theme perfectly.

For this card, just as special as the front is, the inside is great too. Don’t forget to jazz up the inside of your cards. It makes them more fun & unique.

Card Basics:

  • Create a Black Licorice card base 4 1/4″ x 11 inches & fold in half.
  • Mat background is a 4″ x 5 1/4″ Whip Cream mat with a Silk Marbled background. The technique uses Cranberry Bliss & Sparkle Silks.
  • Stamp the small flowers in Watermelon Fusion in the bottom corners to ground the zebra.
  • On Watermelon Fusion cardstock, stamp the zebra in clear pigment ink. I used my custom Black Embossing Powder/Sparkle Dust mix to emboss zebra. Die cut with matching die.
  • I stamped Be Brave on Watermelon Fusion cardstock in Black Licorice ink, fussy cut & layered with Journey Glaze with a sprinkle of Sparkle Dust. Set aside to dry thoroughly.
  • Form a pink ribbon out of Bubble Gum Satin Ribbon & use Glue Dots to secure & add a Heart Sparkle Drop to center.
  • Attach everything to card, popping up zebra & sentiment with Journey Foam Squares.
  • For inside of card create a Whip Cream mat 4″ x 5 1/4″. I used Must Have Sentiments & Strength & Hope stamp sets with Watermelon Fusion & Black Licorice inks. Attach to inside of card.

Thank-you for journeying along with my 1st Stamp of the Month feature. Stay tuned for September’s stamp set, free tutorial & weekly inspiration.

Escape the Ordinary Birthday Set

Hi Angels!

I am back for another Monday inspiration creation featuring the Stamp of the Month Escape the Ordinary.

This card & gift set was actually published on Instagram about 2 weeks ago as part of my round 2 application for the FSJ Creative Team Application. I didn’t make the team this year but I so enjoyed creating the projects.  Let’s take a look at this fun birthday set:

Card Basics:

  • Whip Cream Card Base 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″  The card front is embossed with the Inspire Embossing Folder.
  • Snapshot die cut frame cut from Black Licorice with a Colorful Journey Patterned Print for the frame background.
  • Partial zebra stamped on Whip Cream in clear pigment ink & embossed with Black Embossing powder, die cut & tucked into edge of frame. Head & body of zebra are popped up with Journey Foam squares.
  • Happy Birthday sentiment stamped in clear pigment ink & embossed with black embossing powder on a 1 1/8″ x 3″ strip of Whip Cream. Sentiment piece is then wrapped with Licorice Twist twine & popped onto Snapshot frame piece.
  • Pop completed Snapshot frame piece at an angle onto card base.

Gift Basics:

  • Gift box is the FSJ premade Treat Box wrapped in our black & white Wrapping Paper.
  • Package is wrapped with Black Licorice Satin ribbon. The bow is made from the Special Day Organza ribbon & embellished with a Cottage Bloom die cut flower in Candy Apple with a Whip Cream center.

Escape the Ordinary Smile

Hi Angels!

Welcome to this week’s Stamp of the Month featured card – Smile. I had a lot of fun creating this card and I am sure it will bring a smile to the recipient.

A Clean & Simple design that is relatively easy, it’s main feature is how I popped up the elements. The center umbrella is triple layered to add a little more depth & interest. This side view shows the details.

Here are the card basics:  Beach Ball card base 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.  Pool Play mat layer 4″ x 5 1/4″ embossed with Above the Clouds embossing folder. The clouds are stamped with a Create-A-Palette in Lemon Drop, Beach Ball & Watermelon Fusion reinkers. The Umbrella & Smile were stamped in Black Licorice & colored with Color Burst Pencils. Die cut out the umbrella & 2 plain white umbrella shapes to form triple layer with Journey Foam Squares. Die cut the sentiment & ombre clouds with the cloud die. Layer all the pieces onto the card & sprinkle with Sparkle Silk. Quick, easy & fun.

Have a Wonderfully Creative Week!
