Gloriously 60 Day 8 Art – Beautiful You

Hi Angels!

This Grammy is tired after an overnight with the granddaughters but of course we love having them. And surprise, my youngest son cleaned the house for a Mother’s Day gift after we left to take them home.

We didn’t do much art while they were here this time but I did introduce Miss Nora to Diamond Dotz and I’m pretty sure she’d love to do more.

I got a small Unity Stamp Co. order in the mail today so I made a quick card after dinner.

I used the new Unity Paisley Dreams Toner Card Fronts with the Say It Big Coordinating Dies. It’s always challenging to photograph foil. The foil is Themoweb Enchanted Rose but it looks like rainbow in the reflected light. The you die is an old die from SU!

Thanks for popping in!

Have a Fabulous Mother’s Day!

Gloriously 60 Day 7 Art – Dandelion Joy

Hi Angels!

A quick card tonight as we are enjoying a visit with the granddaughters.

I used the Sizzix Dandelion Wish 3-D embossing folder with a scrap of handmade background and a sentiment from the infamous Bits & Pieces box.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend especially if you are celebrating Mother’s Day.

Thanks for stopping in.

Glorious 60 Day 6 Art – God’s Glory Faithdex

Hi Angels!

Working on a couple projects at once can be a bit of a time challenge. However, making simple beautiful art to post this evening, was a total stress free blessing.

I used Colorado Craft Company’s Whimsy World Clean Heart Bookmarks stamp set for this faithdex card featuring Romans 5:2

Yeshua (Jesus) leads us into a place of radical grace where we are able to celebrate the hope of experiencing God’s Glory.

I watercolored the image with water color pencils & added in a few extra details with some pen work. The verse is hand lettered.

It looks great in my Faithdex box that sits on my desk.

Thanks for stopping in.

Glorious 60 Day 5 Art – Amazing

Hi Angels!

Running just a bit behind the power curve tonight, was working on another design. I was out assisting with the granddaughters earlier today, the youngest has an ear infection and had to go to the doctor. Some days just take detours & you go with the flow.

I’m working on some slim lines so it was easy to grab a few items to make tonight’s card. I precut bases & layers to grab while creating.

I used a hand colored background with Catherine Pooler Designs new Light Burst Slimline Die and a mixture of sentiments to create this design. It needed just a little something so I reached for Pink & Main’s new Sparkle Gems. They are so pretty and have an iridescent shimmer.

Thanks for popping in!

Glorious 60 Day 4 Art – May the 4th

Hi Angels!

I had to have fun with today’s usual Star Wars Theme and Kindred Stamps Chickie Nuggies is my only theme related stamp.

So fun! I purposely made this one wonky. I colored baby Yoda with Prismacolor Pencils and used a sentiment from an old FSJ set. I have to tell you if you don’t have the Subtle 3D embossing folder from Stampin’ Up!, you should get one. It created amazing texture for the “planet” behind baby Yoda. So cool.

I had hope to post closer to dinner time but had to go rescue hubby’s car from the shop and then started to develop my 2nd migraine of the week. Thankful I had most of this card complete. I’m off to get some rest.

May the fun be with you!

Glorious 60 Day 3 Art – Beautiful Life

Hi Angels!

I’m cutting day 3 close here. With the storms rolling through the south I’ve had a migraine all day.

Prayers are going out if you have been affected by the tornadoes & other storms across the country. Living in Oklahoma we are very familiar with unpredictable spring weather.

I actually started the design on today’s card about a week ago but with my asthma issues, a start is all it got. The sentiment is perfect for today – Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful.

This card is full of shimmer & shine. The hand dyed paper for the umbrella is from mica sprays & is just gorgeous up close layered over silver metallic paper. The raindrop background is embossed in WOW! Iced Silver with Lucy’s Things Little Things Raindrops as accents. The sentiment was rainbow stamped, then embossed in clear sparkle embossing powder from my custom mix. I used Catherine Pooler Designs Under the Umbrella Die & April Showers Stamp set.

Tomorrow I am pretty much housebound with a car in the shop so hopefully I can start working on several designs. Not only are there new goodies already waiting to be played with there are a few more arriving this week too.

My goal this week is to get a handful of my ideas off the ground & into design so I can keep up with my 60 day challenge even if it’s a busy or a migraine day.

Thanks for stopping by!

Glorious 60 Day 2 Art – Joyful Peonies

Hi Angels!

Today I am sharing my oldest daughter’s birthday card. Our ages are easy to keep track of as she just celebrated her 40th birthday and mom is celebrating 60. We celebrate our special days just about a month apart.

This came out so lovely. I used Pinkfresh Studio Joyful Peonies stamp, die & layering stencils for the beautiful floral focal point and their Essentials Classic Words die for the sentiment. The handcolored background is embossed with Memory Box Chrysanthemum Field 3-D Embossing Folder. The sequins are from the Catherine Pooler Design Williamsburg mix.

This card gave me just a wee bit of trouble as the original idea I had just wasn’t working with the pretty flowers so I may have created some extras for the infamous Bits & Pieces box. Nothing wrong with a little trial & error to achieve a pretty card, so don’t become discouraged with a project. Sometimes it’s as simple as walking away for a bit & coming back with a fresh set of eyes.

Don’t forget to comment for a chance at the prize package. I think I’ll do a mixture of products from a couple of my favorite companies.

Have a Fabulous Week!

Gloriously 60 Day 1 Art – Stenciled Birthday

Hi Angels!

What better way to kick off my birthday art challenge than with a birthday card for a friend.

For the 60 day art challenge, I will provide as many details to techniques and products as I can and maybe a couple of videos too.

Let’s take a look at this beauty.

Stencils can make for a quick & pretty card that is easy to mail without additional postage. I used the Paper Rose Big Bloom Stencil for this card with Deco Foil Metallix Gel in Champagne Mist. The texture & shimmer provide lots of lovely interest for the background. Adding a simple die cut sentiment from Elizabeth Craft Designs (retired) is the finishing touch.

Don’t forget, I’m putting together a prize package of goodies for the person who comments the most over the next 60 days either here on my blog, on MeWe or Facebook.

Thanks for joining me for my Glorious 60 art adventure.

Lovely Tulips

Hi Angels!

I managed to get a bit of unpacking from retreat done today, despite severe allergies. I hope to have the studio back in order by this weekend.

If you haven’t seen Unity Stamp Company’s Layering Tulips set yet, I’d be surprised since beautiful samples are popping up all over the internet. I believe it’s their very first layering stencil & stamp set & it is wonderful & easy to use.

I opted for my favorite color combo of purple & green for this card. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Simple Strips Sympathy stamp.

Thanks for popping in.

Hopping By

Hi Angels!

It has been so nice to have a media break for the past couple of weeks. If you haven’t taken one in awhile, you might consider it.

We had so much fun on retreat last week at The Scrappin’ Pad. A whole week to play, create, chill, lots of laughter & fun.

The Scrappin’ Pad has a bit of a frog theme and a frog named Finnegan for it’s mascot. So I brought along a frog stamp set to create a card for our hostess, Liz.

Isn’t he fun! I took this pic at the Pad on the dining room table.

I pulled out one of my marbled backgrounds and colored the frog with colored pencils. I used an old FSJ set Stick Around, Gina K’s A Little Hello and Sweet ‘n Sassy Hoppy Spring.

I will be back to posting a bit more regular now that I’ve had a nice break. I have more creative ideas to work on and a bit more organizing planned.

Thanks for stopping by.
