Gloriously 60 Day 58 Art – Puffin Fun

Hi Angels!

I hope your weekend has been grand! Hubby & I got a couple of household things out of the way today. The master bedroom carpet is ordered and we are working on some erosion control for our front yard.

I’ve had the elements for tonight’s card on my desk for a couple of weeks. Actually was making puffin cards with my granddaughter’s but mine got pushed aside for a bit. So I grabbed everything & put my design together.

Puffin Party from Catherine Pooler Designs is such a fun set paired with the Rocky Cove die. We had cut a couple of extra Rocky Cove pieces so I decided to trim an extra center & pop it out for more dimension. I need to play with some more beachy theme cards since it’s summer. I just love spending time near the water.

Gloriously 60 Day 48 – Every Day is a Gift

Hi Angels!

Well I spent a 2nd day out in the heat mowing the lawn for a little over an hour. Whew! I had a slow lazy day after that.

After seeing the new Catherine Pooler Designs Butterfly in Bloom done by one of the design team members on black with metallic watercolor, I wanted to try. So I heat embossed it & painted while watching a movie.

So pretty. The sentiment is from Catherine Pooler Designs One Liners Set. I’ll need to practice a bit more as some colors show up better than others on the black & not always the ones you think will.

Have a Terrific Friday!

Gloriously 60 Day 47 Art – Grow With Love

Hi Angels!

Today was my errand day out in the heat & I came home with a migraine. I tried to get as much done as possible before the high heat of the day but I was still out too long.

I didn’t want to fuss with a lot of coloring etc tonight so I pulled some pre-done background paper to design this card.

I love the tone on tone with a pop of blue. I used Catherine Pooler Designs Beautiful Beginning, Love Grows Here & Flourishes Background stamp sets & dies. The background is the shaving cream technique I did ages ago.

If it’s this hot this early in the year, we may be in for an intense summer. Could be a good thing. I can hide out in the studio & organize & play.

Gloriously 60 Day 22 Art – Birthday Diamonds

Hi Angels!

Today was the big 60! I had a quiet birthday packing for our South Dakota trip tomorrow. So ready to travel & enjoy some of God’s wonderful creation!

I think it’s appropriate that I share this fun birthday card I created today on my birthday.

I did a partial stenciling of the diamonds and then added the sentiments & bling. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Catherine Pooler Designs Little Something Sentiments set. I used My Favorite Things Stamps Anything but Basic Birthday & Bitty Birthday Wishes for the other 2 sentiments.

I hope you weekend is both fun & relaxing.

Gloriously 60 Day 11 Art – Dog Mom

Hi Angels!

Today I’m sharing my youngest daughter’s Mother’s Day card & the most fun to make. She is a dog mom to my granddog Louie.

I used Newton’s Nook Dog Print stencil for the background, Catherine Pooler Designs Peeking Pets & an alphabet from Spellbinders.

This completes my Mother’s Day slimline series.

Glorious 60 Day 5 Art – Amazing

Hi Angels!

Running just a bit behind the power curve tonight, was working on another design. I was out assisting with the granddaughters earlier today, the youngest has an ear infection and had to go to the doctor. Some days just take detours & you go with the flow.

I’m working on some slim lines so it was easy to grab a few items to make tonight’s card. I precut bases & layers to grab while creating.

I used a hand colored background with Catherine Pooler Designs new Light Burst Slimline Die and a mixture of sentiments to create this design. It needed just a little something so I reached for Pink & Main’s new Sparkle Gems. They are so pretty and have an iridescent shimmer.

Thanks for popping in!

Glorious 60 Day 3 Art – Beautiful Life

Hi Angels!

I’m cutting day 3 close here. With the storms rolling through the south I’ve had a migraine all day.

Prayers are going out if you have been affected by the tornadoes & other storms across the country. Living in Oklahoma we are very familiar with unpredictable spring weather.

I actually started the design on today’s card about a week ago but with my asthma issues, a start is all it got. The sentiment is perfect for today – Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful.

This card is full of shimmer & shine. The hand dyed paper for the umbrella is from mica sprays & is just gorgeous up close layered over silver metallic paper. The raindrop background is embossed in WOW! Iced Silver with Lucy’s Things Little Things Raindrops as accents. The sentiment was rainbow stamped, then embossed in clear sparkle embossing powder from my custom mix. I used Catherine Pooler Designs Under the Umbrella Die & April Showers Stamp set.

Tomorrow I am pretty much housebound with a car in the shop so hopefully I can start working on several designs. Not only are there new goodies already waiting to be played with there are a few more arriving this week too.

My goal this week is to get a handful of my ideas off the ground & into design so I can keep up with my 60 day challenge even if it’s a busy or a migraine day.

Glorious 60 Day 2 Art – Joyful Peonies

Hi Angels!

Today I am sharing my oldest daughter’s birthday card. Our ages are easy to keep track of as she just celebrated her 40th birthday and mom is celebrating 60. We celebrate our special days just about a month apart.

This came out so lovely. I used Pinkfresh Studio Joyful Peonies stamp, die & layering stencils for the beautiful floral focal point and their Essentials Classic Words die for the sentiment. The handcolored background is embossed with Memory Box Chrysanthemum Field 3-D Embossing Folder. The sequins are from the Catherine Pooler Design Williamsburg mix.

This card gave me just a wee bit of trouble as the original idea I had just wasn’t working with the pretty flowers so I may have created some extras for the infamous Bits & Pieces box. Nothing wrong with a little trial & error to achieve a pretty card, so don’t become discouraged with a project. Sometimes it’s as simple as walking away for a bit & coming back with a fresh set of eyes.

Don’t forget to comment for a chance at the prize package. I think I’ll do a mixture of products from a couple of my favorite companies.

Have a Fabulous Week!

Courage to Fly

Hi Angels!

An unusually warm sunshine day today meant we actually turned on the air conditioner for a bit. I am thankful for lots of big windows in the house because I just love the light and I didn’t step outside today like I probably should have.

I was busy working on a couple of projects. I cleared my current sewing to-do list of a few repairs and a set of curtains for the side windows of the front door.

I popped out into the studio just a bit ago, realized I hadn’t gotten to straighten up my work areas yet, so grabbed the Just Soar stamp set from Catherine Pooler Designs that I used a couple days ago to make another card.

I love how this card came out. The larger butterfly is stamped on a scrap of watercolor background. The rest of the card includes several different CPD ink colors I was trying to match to the watercolor on the butterfly.

Hope you are finding some time to be creative during National Craft Month.

Garden Card & Light Art

Hi Angels!

This Grammy is tired but it was a fun couple of days with my granddaughters.

I found these cute wood light boxes at Michaels recently and knew Nora would enjoy painting the unicorn, the butterfly is for sister Zoe. Nora painted both & Grammy did a bit of touch up to Zoe’s.

So cute! Nora really enjoys time in Grammy’s studio.

After taking Nora home and a dinner date with hubby, I wandered into the studio to create a quick card. Taking advantage of another background stamp I purchased from Catherine Pooler Designs warehouse sale. I also grabbed some of my leftover backgrounds for the flowers.

Everything is from Catherine Pooler Designs. I used the Just Soar and BFF Background stamps and the Warm Hugs Sentiment dies.
