Gloriously 60 Day 55 Art – Ombre Butterflies

Hi Angels!

I hope you are staying cool where ever you’re hanging out at. We had a short break from the heat but it came roaring right back.

Tonight I played some more with the Hero Arts Butterfly Circle Stencil that was included in this month’s SCT Sampler.

This quick clean & simple design would make a great gift set for someone in a variety of colors with a mix of sentiments. The sentiment I used is from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

My Gloriously 60 art challenge for my 60th birthday wraps up soon but stay tuned, I have ideas already lined up for July & August.

Gloriously 60 Day 45 Art – Sweet Summer

Hi Angels!

Tonight’s class was the final installment of our 12 x 12 Seasons Samplers – Sweet Summer. I had so much fun designing this.

I started off with another idea with the Lawn Fawn Magic Iris Birdhouse Add-On & while looking for some other dies came across the Elizabeth Craft Designs Lake Scene Die set. The other dies are older Spellbinders sets & the sentiments are also Elizabeth Craft Designs. What says summer better than days at the lake, birds singing & a gazebo to hang out with the family.

All the pieces feature ink blending with Distress Oxides. The main pieces include Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, Wilted Violet & Seedless Preserve. The accent pieces have Fossilized Amber, Abandoned Coral & Seedless Preserves.

I have a quiet week ahead so that means more studio time, Yay!

Gloriously 60 Day 41 Art – Soar

Hi Angels!

I am not so tired today, did a bit of a reset of my plans since it’s mid-year, tidied up the studio some and will work on getting my schedule back in shape. Sometimes you just need a little bit of reflection time.

Today’s card is also made with scraps but unlike last night’s ‘eh’ this one is ‘wow’.

I popped into HL yesterday to pick up a couple of things for the granddaughters & did pop by the paper craft section which they were doing a complete redo on. I’ve got a couple of ideas I’ve been mulling around & decided to pick up the bird & branch set from Momenta. Sorry they just have a number no name. The sentiment is from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Some rest & a fresh perspective definitely make a difference.

Have a Fabulous Weekend!

Shine Bible Journaling Retreat

Hi Angels!

Last weekend also hosted the Creative Worship Bible Journaling group’s Shine Retreat. Because Crop & Create was so intense, I only got to create 2 of the workshops & a couple of prayer sessions.

Since Crop & Create provided us with more foiling tips from Therm-o-web, I created a Faithdex card with the retreat’s focal verse & foiling.

Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16

For the ray background I used the free printable from Allie Scraps, a diecut of the word Shine from Elizabeth Craft cut out with mounting tape & foiled, Sweet ‘n Sassy’s Shine Your Light stamp set & hand lettered verse.

I plan to spend a good portion of this week doing some more of the Bible Journaling Workshops.

Have a Fabulous Easter Week!

Stencils with Grammy

Hi Angels!

Today’s busy is the fun kind, time with my granddaughters. Zoe had a playdate with Grammy & Papa then dad brought Nora over to spend the night & took Zoe home. Zoe is in the full zoom mode of a 2 year old so they are trying not to wear Grammy & Papa out too much, LOL!

Nora and I got busy in the studio after checking the mail and the new Brutus Monroe Stencil of the Month had arrived. She asked what is was so Grammy gave her a stencil lesson. She helped me with mine to learn how to blend in the colors then proceeded to make herself a rainbow card.

The beginning of Nora’s rainbow.
The finishing touches.
Card complete with die cut sentiments and some butterflies Grammy had leftover from another project.

She did a fabulous job!

So while Nora was busy watching a show, Grammy finished her card with an older flower die, some scraps and a recently purchased sentiment set from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

It’s been a busy day but oh, so much fun.

Enjoy your weekend!

Elegant Abstract

Hi Angels!

I was going to create this card yesterday but I got some much needed tidying & organizing done and decided to call the day good.

You guessed it, it’s the Abstract Flower Stencil from Brutus Monroe’s February stencil of the month. I think for now I’m done designing with it, we’ll see.

This came out fabulously elegant! I embossed the stencil in white. I actually just got in some Brutus Monroe Alabaster (white) embossing powder. I decided it needed a border so I found the thinnest washi I had that would work with the black & white design.

The sentiment is Quietfire Design by Suzanne Cannon through Elizabeth Craft Design. If you are not familiar with Suzanne’s work, she is a master calligrapher, who many years ago started turning her calligraphy into stamps. Her designs are now available through Elizabeth Craft Designs & the Silhouette Store. I have many of her original red rubber unmounted stamps in the studio. I need to gather them together while I am organizing & put them to use again. Her calligraphy is just lovely.

I hope you are recovering well from last week’s frigid blast.

Have a Great Week!
