Anniversary Hearts

Hi Friends!

I am back after some much needed healing time for my allergies & asthma and a fun unplugged retreat with the Angels. I limited my social media & news while away. I highly recommend it. It is easy to get overwhelmed with all the news & chaos in this world.

Before I left, I created this card for my oldest son & his beautiful wife for their 2nd wedding anniversary.

I used Gina K. Designs Layered Hearts stencil for the background and You Are Enough stamp set for the silver embossed flowers. The card background features Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Bitty Hearts stencil. The sentiment is from an old FSJ set.

I hope you are having a wonderful week after the time change. I certainly enjoy the longer daylight hours. More time for sunshine.

Daisies Celebration

Last week was really busy & although I had a couple things ready to post, it just wasn’t happening. I have been making more progress organizing & purging with a goal this week to spend a minimum of 2 hours a day working on it.

Since I had my SCT Let’s Stamp Together set still out, I created this birthday card for a dear friend.

She’s loves purple so of course that’s what I used. The sentiment is from Pinkfresh Studio, the daisies are the exclusive Gina K. Designs Happy Floral for the Let’s Stamp Together club. I added lots of sparkle with some glitter.

Happy Hello

We are officially getting snow in central Oklahoma with freezing temps so it’s a perfect time to stay inside. I got some more sorting & organizing done today. Yay!

Tonight we had our first official Scrapbook & Cards Today Let’s Stamp Together class. It’s their new subscription plan and all sets are exclusive to the club. Gina K. Designs designed the first stamp/dies/stencil combo called Happy Hello Floral. We created 3 cards in class.

I only went rogue a little bit. I love the daisy style flower in this set. I used a variety of Distress Oxide inks for my colors and switched them up a wee bit from the originals.

Kits arrived every other month, there is exclusive content, a class, a private group & they are now taking subscriptions for a May start date, yep March is filled already. Happy Monday! I hope you’ve had a wonderful start to your week.

Tonight’s encouragement card can easily be made into a Valentine too. I like to make love cards suitable for various occasions not just Valentine’s only.

It’s a mix of SCT Samplers. I used the heart dies from the new January Kit with the papers from the September kit from Carta Bella’s Summer collection. The love die & sentiment are from Gina K. Designs A Little Love kit. Everything is layered on a hand dyed background and ‘love’ is also cut from a piece of the background. The stitched hearts dies & a larger love sentiment die are a SCT exclusive to the kit this month.

I think tomorrow is clean the studio day, it’s kind of a mess from the last few projects and a wise woman would put it in order before creating more art, ahem messes.

While I didn’t get as much done as I’d like in the studio this weekend, I certainly enjoyed some stress-free creating and a little tidying up.

I am continuing with my encouragement series with tonight’s card. The series will continue throughout the year.

I opted for a twist on a traditional black silhouette stamp by using an ombre stamp pad for the flower image on a soft blended background. I pulled Gina K. Designs Little Garden Silhouettes and Caring Flowers stamp sets to create with. The Little Garden Silhouettes set was included in my December SCT Sampler. Often the sampler items are exclusive to that month.

Peaceful Treeline

I don’t know how you’re doing with your new year plans but I’m still struggling with getting my schedule on track. It will come together, it’s only the first week of the year.

I did work on a couple of projects the past 2 days. Tonight’s card was a quick clean & simple design.

The background is watercolored in gradient tones of purple. I used Gina K Designs Friendly Silhouettes and Winter Whimsy sets for my stamps. The sentiment is gold embossed.

Tomorrow’s plans are tidying up the studio & more creating.

Friendly Silhouettes – Crop & Create Delivered Cardmaking

This was one of my favorite classes last weekend with Gina K. from Gina K. Designs.

I just love ink blending and these came out fabulous with the Friendly Silhouettes set.

We did masking with Gina K. Designs Masking Magic & it works so smoothly & releases so well from your project. Good thing I have a package or 2 on hand already for future projects. The stamp set will be released a bit later along with a new masking die set from Gina K. Designs. Some sets are exclusive to the event & some are previews of new releases from some of the companies. Always fun.

Have you been spreading a bit of kindness lately? Thanks to the event I have a couple more ideas I can work on but right now helping our elderly dog after surgery is where my kindness is focused.

Hello Sunshine – World Cardmaking Day

It’s has been a long fun creative day between Crop & Create and World Cardmaking Day.

I only got 8 of 16 cards done today with 5 more in various stages of completion. Not only was my first class of the day with Gina K. Designs, but she did a special World Cardmaking tutorial over on the Scrapbook & Cards Today Facebook page.

She shared this technique a couple weeks ago and did a different variation of it today which I had so much fun creating.

What can be better than ink blending, stencils & die cuts? I just love this wonderful sunshine card and it’s sure to bring a lot of light to someone’s day.

Off to get some rest, I still have 4 more classes tomorrow.

With Love & Prayers Wreath

I finally played with my August SCT Sampler last night after watching Gina K’s inspiration video. The stamp set included in the sampler was a Gina K. Designs exclusive Poppy Silhouettes.

Okay confession time, I think I bought the Gina K. Wreath Builder stencil set a couple of years ago & this is the 1st time using it & it was easy & fun! I pulled a couple more Gina K. sets to complete the card. The Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide flowers are from the SCT Exclusive set Poppy Silhouettes, the Shaded Lilac DO flowers are from Grateful Greenery and the sentiment is from Peaceful Floral. Since I rarely do square cards, I die cut the wreath & added the thinnest black border.

Now I am going to have to watch the video tutorials on creating a spray of flowers for a card.

Time to Coast Birthday Wishes

I hope you have had a great Saturday!

This was actually the first card I created for last Monday’s class but I love how it came out & decided it would be the perfect birthday card for my Son-in-law Dustin’s birthday yesterday so I had to wait to share it.

I used Gina K Designs Time to Coast set and Master Layouts 5 die set along with Taylored Expressions Shiplap Background. I love the sunrise/sunset ink blended background on this one.
