I had so much fun designing these cards for our granddaughters and I love sending them Happy Mail.
I used Unity Stamp Co’s Spring Mouse for the focal image & colored with Prismacolors and stenciled with My Favorite Things raindrops with glitter paste. The background paper is Lawn Fawn’s Flower Market. The flowers were created with Taylored Expressions Buds & Blossoms dies that we received in our Crop & Create event kit and the sentiment if from Catherine Pooler Designs. Nothing like combining all the companies to create a card.
Tonight’s card is the 2nd birthday of this week. Our youngest son’s birthday is today. Typical of all my guys, he doesn’t like any fuss over his birthday but I made this card & one of his favorite dinners.
I used the gear die from one of the Graphic 45 tag sets, the birthday die is from My Favorite Things & the embossing folder is Tim Holtz Riveted Metal.
Fairly quick to make, simple & elegant and definitely not fussy.
As usual on Mondays I don’t get as much time to create as I want to but I really like getting the majority of the house cleaning done in one day.
Tonight’s card features a product I hadn’t used yet with some of the infamous Bits & Pieces stash. I love a good pink & black color combo.
The new item was Vicki Boutin’s Heart Stencil from the Sweet Rush collection that came in one of my SCT Samplers last year. I did an ombre ink blend with Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo & Picked Raspberry Distress Oxides. Checked to see what hearts I had in my Bits & Pieces box and added a stacked die cut sentiment from My Favorite Things called Loopy Love. Quick & easy design.
It was a freezing, sleet filled day here today. Thankful I can arrange my schedule to stay snug at home.
I have set a few challenge goals for myself this year including a least one Bible Journaling or Faith Art project each week or 52 completed projects for 2023. Since it’s the final couple of days in January, I’m a little behind the power curve on this project. Not to worry, I have some ideas and I actually hope to exceed my goal for this year. I’ve been busy establishing longer in depth Bible Study times & getting my exercise routine set.
My first page is based off my January Creative Retreat Kits Deeply Rooted study, featuring the verses from Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV.
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out it’s roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for it’s leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.
I used a combination of stencils, colored pencil work, watercolor and word/alphabet stamps for this page. The stencils were from Sweet Poppy Stencils & My Favorite Things and the stamps were from Creative Retreat Kits, Sweet ‘n Sassy and Penny Black.
Are your roots deep or shallow? It is important in our walk with God to be discerning & directly in His Word studying, seeking His knowledge & wisdom. Too many outside influences have infiltrated the “church” and there are a lot of false teachings and half truths being touted as okay.
I hope your week ahead is wonderful. Stay safe & warm.
I loved this winter stag card tutorial I saw over on Lavinia Stamps Youtube channel and knew it would make the perfect birthday card for Matthew.
I actually had very little Lavinia stamp supplies on hand for this card so I recreated the main background in the same style but had to dig in my stash for stamps I thought would fit the design. The deer is from Sweet ‘n Sassy’s Scene Silhouettes Woodland, the foliage is from Lavinia Swirl set, Taylored Expressions Bold Branches & Catherine Pooler Beautiful Beginning. The sentiment if from My Favorite Things Fabulous at Any Age & the script stamp is from Catherine Pooler Birds of a Feather.
When you see a card or design you like, you don’t have to go out & but all the product, just shop your stash for similar items you already have.
Well I was planning on coming home from my trip last weekend & schedule some more posts but came home with a sinus infection which of course is never simple to deal with when you have asthma. So I’ve been resting a lot this past week. The good news is I’m on the mend & back to creating.
We made a whirlwind trip during fall break to spend a couple of days with our granddaughters and celebrate Zoe’s 4th birthday a couple weeks early. Her birthday is coming up this week on the 28th but when your 4, anytime is celebration time.
I created this fun card from My Favorite Things Stamp’s Purr-fect Birthday set and cased one of their designer’s samples with a couple of changes of course.
This was such a fun card to create. In addition to the stamp & die set, I used MFT’s Balloon Party & Slimline English Brick stencils.
I hope you are enjoying a fabulous weekend. It’s a bit warm here in Oklahoma but I’m enjoying soaking up the sunshine.
I love creating cards that make 2 with one design. I created the flower celebrate for a dear friend’s birthday party and ended up with a solid complimentary card to use later.
I used mainly items from Concord & 9th Exclusive Summer Camp, Celebrate Today Dies, Summer Blossoms Turnabout Stamps & dies and Let’s Eat Cake Stamp set. I paired them with My Favorite Things Roses Background (retired) and Pinkfresh Studio Essentials Blanket Stitch Slimline & Mini Slimline dies.
I stamped one panel with the roses background & created a second panel with an ink blended background, cut the celebrate die out of both & switched which background the word went back into. The letters are stacked on 2 more sets of white letters to create dimension & depth. For a finishing touch I added a couple of sentiments & sequins to each card.
I have been playing a bit more in between sorting & organizing so stay tuned for some more inspiration.
Today’s share is the birthday card I created for my daughter-in-law using a future release from Pinkfresh Studio. Yep, participating in an event again that allows me to play with products before everyone else.
I picked out a Gel Press background with embedded silver leafing to cut out the new Pinkfresh Ornate Circle die. It looks a fancy flower or sunburst in this format. I did the cloud background with My Favorite Things Stamps Mini Cloud Edges stencil. The beautiful iridescent gemstones are brand new too and not yet available. The celebrate is a current Pinkfresh die and is cut from silver foil. I already have another idea for this die after playing with the different ways it cuts out. Stay tuned.
I hope your last week or so has been wonderful. I have been creating but not having the time to post between busy & allergies.
Today I am sharing the Mother’s Day cards I made my daughters and daughter-in-law. Lots of fun doing a few different techniques. A couple are inspired by recent video tutorials on Youtube. All the cards incorporate My Favorite Things stamps & dies.
These were so fun to make and I’m settling more & more into creating for the shear joy of the process & to bring smiles to someone’s day. So I may not be posting as often but I am creating everything with love.
I hope you had an awesome weekend! We definitely enjoyed the time with our granddaughters. They will be moving a few hours away soon.
It’s May & my birthday month & for the past 5-6 years I have bee doing a monthly art challenge, but this year I have decided to continue to enjoy creating at a quieter pace & keep purging. Don’t worry, I’ll still have plenty of inspiration to share.
My oldest daughter’s birthday was Friday and I decided to create with Concord & 9th’s Up & Away Die set.
The best thing about having a background stash is I don’t always have to start from scratch to design a great card. I pulled this beautiful alcohol ink background to die cut the balloon, added a glitter heart and a silver basket to complete. I used My Favorite Things Stamps Stylish Birthday Die-namics with their cloud stencil for the background.
I hope you have a great week ahead. It’s definitely May in Oklahoma, we had a few storms and a couple of tornadoes this evening (no tornadoes near us). We are expecting more storms on Weds. Spring is here.
