Daisy Love – Crop & Create Delivered Cardmaking

Hi Angels!

A short pause yesterday in posting since I was at the ER Vet with Reilly, he developed an infection in his incision area. They took excellent care of him & hopefully we are back on the mend.

Sometimes with the Crop & Create classes it’s difficult to pick a favorite. The Pinkfresh Studio is tied for the top honor with the Gina K ink blending class. As I’ve said before daisies are my absolute favorite flower.

We used the Daisy Slimline Layering Stencil with the coordinating die and the Scripted Greetings die set. Lea Lawson taught us the versatility of a slimline set as we created a regular slimline, mini slimline and regular A2 card. She suggested the regular slimline would make a great shaker card so I decided to go for it. There will be a matching stamp set when this set is released late this month that I can’t wait to get to complete the set.

I hope your Sunday has been blessed & you have a great week ahead. Don’t forget to share some kindness!

Thrill of Hope

Hi Angels!

After a fun family weekend, I’m back in the studio this week mainly prepping for the Crop & Create Cardmaking event this weekend but also some other creating & cleanup.

I went to create a card with the new Pinkfresh Studio Thrill of Hope set last week & one of the stencils was missing from my set. No worries, a quick email & the replacement arrived today so I decided to create a quick card.

A little different for me as it’s a bit more muted. I was experimenting with my Catherine Pooler ink colors since I am still getting used to them. I used the Thrill of Hope stencil, stamp & die combo from Pinkfresh Studio to create the card. I really like their coordinating sets.

Wishing everyone a fabulous week & don’t forget a little kindness along the way.

Blue Daisies – SCT July Sampler

Hi Angels!

I spent a good portion of the day sorting & organizing so I opted for a quick card tonight. I am working a corner at a time on 3 areas of the house, upstairs, the master bedroom & the studio. This week’s push is the master bedroom because we are having new carpet installed next week. In the studio I started reorganizing the scraps. Their storage files are a bit of a jumble and for some reason a couple of them ended up in another location which is no fun when you are looking for something in particular.

I haven’t had a chance to create with my new SCT July Sampler and it’s always great for something quick using the new products.

I indulged my love of daisies with some background paper from Pinkfresh Studio’s new Happy Blooms Collection and The Stamp Market’s Sunflower Bliss stamp set created for this sampler. The stamp set may say sunflowers but I think they make pretty great daisies. The stems were a little shorter than I wanted so I hand drew them with a Koi Brush pen and then stamped the leaves. The hello stamp in the set was a little too big so I added a diecut.

I hope your week is going great.

Stay tuned more Christmas in July is in the works.

Gloriously 60 Day 60 Art – More Yourself

Hi Angels!

It’s here!!! We made it to day 60! My Gloriously 60 Art Challenge has been completed!

I promised a prize package but my blog wasn’t allowing comments, which I am having looked into but I also didn’t get many on social media either. I will go back through my posts & see if someone consistently liked or commented & surprise them with some goodies I have tucked aside.

Tonight’s card holds true to celebrating my 60th birthday all year long & taking a sabbatical. Becoming more of myself again after years of teaching & serving. Am I still serving & teaching, you bet, but in smaller acts instead of a full schedule. God encourages us to seek rest & I am doing just that & having fun playing in my art too.

Butterflies have been my symbol of life since I was a pre-teen. The transformation of change from a fuzzy caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly has always spoken to me & also embraces my life in Yeshua Messiah, Jesus. Embracing life no matter what is thrown at me good or bad times. Am I perfect, far from it. But hopefully I am continuing to learn, grow & become more of myself in Him.

I created this card with Pinkfresh Studio’s Butterflies set and a beautiful blend of Distress Oxides.

Thank-you for hanging out with me for my 60 day art challenge. Stay tuned, there will be some Christmas in July coming up and in August you may see quite a few slimline cards.

Have a Blessed July!

Gloriously 60 Day 14 Art – Pretty Plaid

Hi Angels!

Today I got a bit of clean-up & organizing done in the studio, then Friday evenings are usually reserved for hanging out with hubby at the end of the work week so my design time got pushed.

I had an idea for this card a few days ago & set everything out to work on it.

It took a bit of fiddling but I like the clean & simple design. I used Pinkfresh Studio Diamond Plaid layering stencil with Salvaged Patina & Shaded Lilac Distress Oxides. Classic Tags with Fillable Elements die set & Perfect Sentiments stamp set (I’m on the wait list for the die. It stamps all the sentiments at once so you have quite a variety to choose from). The clear sequins give it just a touch of elegance.

I hope your weekend is off to a good start! Enjoy!

Glorious 60 Day 2 Art – Joyful Peonies

Hi Angels!

Today I am sharing my oldest daughter’s birthday card. Our ages are easy to keep track of as she just celebrated her 40th birthday and mom is celebrating 60. We celebrate our special days just about a month apart.

This came out so lovely. I used Pinkfresh Studio Joyful Peonies stamp, die & layering stencils for the beautiful floral focal point and their Essentials Classic Words die for the sentiment. The handcolored background is embossed with Memory Box Chrysanthemum Field 3-D Embossing Folder. The sequins are from the Catherine Pooler Design Williamsburg mix.

This card gave me just a wee bit of trouble as the original idea I had just wasn’t working with the pretty flowers so I may have created some extras for the infamous Bits & Pieces box. Nothing wrong with a little trial & error to achieve a pretty card, so don’t become discouraged with a project. Sometimes it’s as simple as walking away for a bit & coming back with a fresh set of eyes.

Don’t forget to comment for a chance at the prize package. I think I’ll do a mixture of products from a couple of my favorite companies.

Have a Fabulous Week!

Layering Stencil Fun with PinkFresh

Hi Angels!

Allergy & asthma season are in full swing for me especially with the Bradford pear trees blooming, ugh!

Fortunately I can hide out in my studio quite a bit.

Today I am sharing the extra lesson from Sunday’s class schedule. I fell in love with the Pinkfresh layering stencils at last months Brutus Monroe event so was thrilled to learn I’d get another lesson with Crop & Create.

These came out gorgeous! This is the Seamless Floral Panel set and is so much fun.

If you notice the Hugs card’s letters are cut from the same stenciled pattern. The Blessings card on the bottom had a boo-boo when I lost track of the stencil placement so I trimmed it down & used what I trimmed to create the lettering for “hugs”. There are no mistakes only creative detours.

Thanks for checking out my creations.
