Love Balloons

HI Angels!

We had a bit of warm today and now we start to polar plunge towards our next winter weather event. I did get out & get some sunshine today. I hope you had some sunshine to enjoy where you live.

It’s always fun when a company adds a little thank-you to an order. Even a sweet note is a blessing. I recently ordered for the 1st time from Trinity Stamps after using their products in a couple of different events and they included a small stencil as a thank-you.

I used the Love Balloons to create this card.

Now if you know me, I rarely make Valentines, I usually make love cards that can be used for a variety of occasions and today’s creation can easily be used for anything. I ink blended with Candy Apple, Kitsch Flamingo and Wilted Violet Distress Oxides, added some white gel pen highlights and hand drawn strings & bows. I used Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Bitty Hearts stencil & Gina K. Designs A Little Love for the sentiment. Since I couldn’t trim the card down to add a mat, I outlined the edges with a black Sharpie & a ruler so it popped just a bit more.

If you are expecting winter weather too, please stay safe and warm.

Have a Wonderful Sunday!

Blessings!

December Round-Up Lavinia Style Birthday

Hi Angels!

Today we celebrate our oldest son’s birthday.

I loved this winter stag card tutorial I saw over on Lavinia Stamps Youtube channel and knew it would make the perfect birthday card for Matthew.

I actually had very little Lavinia stamp supplies on hand for this card so I recreated the main background in the same style but had to dig in my stash for stamps I thought would fit the design. The deer is from Sweet ‘n Sassy’s Scene Silhouettes Woodland, the foliage is from Lavinia Swirl set, Taylored Expressions Bold Branches & Catherine Pooler Beautiful Beginning. The sentiment if from My Favorite Things Fabulous at Any Age & the script stamp is from Catherine Pooler Birds of a Feather.

When you see a card or design you like, you don’t have to go out & but all the product, just shop your stash for similar items you already have.

Thanks for stopping by.

Blessings!

Wisdom

Hi Friends!

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted. Life has just been crazy between my neck, now my lower back, hubby’s blood pressure & summer travel but God is forever good and obviously I needed a little bit of a creative break. Although I have snuck in some creating when I can and done a bit more organizing.

I’ve really missed Bible Journaling and have recently started a study in Proverbs. I went back to a lesson from February on the Creative Worship group and created this page. The focal verse is Proverbs 9:10 The fear of ADONAI is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Pretty much sums up studying God’s word.

This is the opening page in my Proverbs Scripture Journal. If you are not familiar with scripture journals, you can purchase an individual book of the Bible for just a few dollars and every other page is blank for taking notes and creating. Perfect for a concentrated study & travel.

I don’t usually gesso my pages & now I remember why, I don’t like the difference in how products work on a gessoed page. But I did gesso this one to protect the scripture on the page behind from bleed through. I used Distress Oxides, Sweet ‘n Sassy stencils, hand lettering, die cuts and the Owl is a stamp from By The Well 4 God.

No promises at the moment for how often I’ll be posting but I’m working on more consistency in life in general so hopefully that will work it’s way over to the creative side.

Have a fabulously blessed weekend!

Blessings,

Focus – Bible Journaling

Hi Friends!

I hope you are heading into a fantastic weekend ahead. We will be spending part of the weekend with our granddaughters, YAY!

I have created a couple of cards this week and this Bible Journaling page I did yesterday while dealing with a migraine. It’s a rough allergy season this year for sure.

The focal verse for this lesson is Isaiah 26:3

You keep in perfect peace one whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. TLV

After seeing the video over on the His Palette group earlier this month and knowing cameras were involved, I came across one of the Mintay Mamarazzi papers at a local shop & knew it would be perfect for my page. I added in a printable from His Palette and used Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Marker Alpha and Fall in Love with Jesus sets along with a stenciled background. Since I had already journaled this verse in my columned journaling Bible, I moved over to my Interleaved Bible to complete this page.

Enjoy your weekend!

Blessings!

Mercies – Bible Journaling

Hi Friends!

I’m back with another Bible page from the God is Faithful Retreat. It came out so beautifully and features one of my favorite scripture selections from Lamentations 3:22-26

Because of the mercies of ADONAI we will not be consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning! Great is Your faithfulness. “ADONAI is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in Him.” ADONAI is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul that seeks Him. It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of ADONAI. TLV

Gayle taught this lesson and I just loved using floral scrapbook paper to build this page. It’s a great example of being able to use any of our card/scrapbooking supplies in Bible journaling. I used 3 different Distress Oxides to create a soft stippled background. The paper is from Pink & Main’s Fantastic Florals paper pad. The stamp sets used are Sweet ‘n Sassy Marker Alpha, Simon Says Stamp Spiritual Sentiments and an old Verve Stamps set New Mercies (retired).

We are heading into the weekend. Have a good one!

Bloom – Bible Journaling

Hi Friends!

Yesterday was my one day in town running errands so didn’t get much done except some more studio organizing. Today I did some more organizing, took part in a live Bible journaling session on the His Palette Bible Journaling group and finished up another page from the God is Faithful retreat, all while dealing with a migraine.

Today’s video lesson was from Isaiah 35 featuring verses 1 & 2.

The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. NIV

Suzanne from Confetti Creativo was teaching this lesson, so I used a mix of 4 of her printables – Seasons, Consider the Wildflowers II, Promise in the Sky and Upsy-Daisy. The background includes 2 Sweet ‘n Sassy stencils – Mosaic and Grunge Grid plus Texture Tiles 1 stamp set. The small splats are from an old FSJ set.

The weekend is almost here. Have a great Thursday!

Blessings!

God is Faithful Bible Journaling Retreat – Forever

Hi Friends!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Today’s Bible journaling page is from Psalm 105:8

He remembers His covenant forever, the promise He made, for a thousand generations. NIV

I used Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Happy Place and Flower Garden sets with Distress Oxides and colored pencils.

Have a Blessed Easter Sunday!

God is Faithful Bible Journaling Retreat – The Lion & The Lamb

Hi Friends!

We have the honor & privilege to know that while we remember Yeshua’s sacrifice this weekend, He is indeed risen and we live with the hope of His return.

One of our retreat lessons, by Suzanne from Confetti Creativo, was on The Lion & The Lamb Revelation 5:5 and 5:12

“Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, Root of David, has conquered, so that He can open the scroll and its seven seals.”

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!”

My page includes splatters of red, black & gold representing the blood, darkness and light & majesty of our Lord’s sacrifice. The lion printable is from Ella Roetz, the lamb stamp is from Creative Retreat Kits and the flowers from Sweet ‘n Sassy Consider the Wildflowers.

May your weekend be a reminder of how much God loves you, that He sacrifice His Son for our sins and He rose victorious over death to bring us new life in Him.

Blessings!

God is Faithful Bible Journaling Retreat – Paths of the Lord

Hi Friends!

I’m a wee bit late posting tonight. I have been reorganizing part of my kitchen & pantry. We did a major shift to accommodate a new small upright freezer.

Another retreat share, it was a really fun page to design from Diane’s lesson. Our focus was Psalm 25:10

All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep His covenant and His testimonies. ESV

I love the freeform watercolor circles with the doodles. You could use a variety of shapes to do this technique. The silhouette stamps are Sweet ‘n Sassy Nature Silhouettes 1 & 2 and the words are from a printable Diane designed just for the retreat.

I’m going to try & post a bit earlier tomorrow as we are attending Good Friday evening services with our son & daughter-in-law at their church in the evening.

Have a Blessed Easter Weekend!

God is Faithful Bible Journaling Retreat – Trustworthy Saying

Hi Friends!

The first weekend of this month was spent in the Creative Worship group enjoying the God is Faithful Bible Journaling Retreat. We had a bakers dozen classes over Friday & Saturday. I completed 9, started #10, have 2 to watch & one was delayed because of internet issues. Not bad for 2 days.

Our first class actually started with a Bible tassel or what I refer to as a floof. I dug out some fiber bits & pieces to create mine. After I picked up some lobster claw attachments, I went back & finessed it a bit.

One benefit of the weekend was that I allowed myself to make some quick pages. I don’t often do quick & so it was good to step outside my normal. You may see a few more quick designs in the future.

I did my first page in my new NIV Journal the Word New Testament. It is basically travelers notebook size at 6 7/8 by 3 1/4 inches and the pages are similar to an interleaved Bible with one side of the page being left blank for notes & journaling. The focal verses were 2 Timothy 2:11-13

Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with Him, we will also live with Him; if we endure, we will also reign with Him. If we disown Him, He will also disown us; if we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot disown Himself. NIV

I used a gel plate for the scallop shape with Distress Oxides, added in Sweet ‘n Sassy’s Botanical Branches and a quote Janelle shared with us in our lesson. A bit of gold watercolor accents completed the page.

Blessings!
