Compassionate Heart

Hi Angels!

I managed to get my extra scheduled cleaning done today & do some creating.

My Bible study this morning was a great reminder of how even in the chaos of this current world, showing love & compassion to everyone is still the most important thing for us to do. Kindness is not very prominent and there is an awful lot of animosity going around. Perhaps instead of pushing agendas, a little bit of grace & kindness can be extended. A little bit of kindness & compassion can make a big difference in someone’s day.

I created this Faithdex card as a reminder that love makes all the difference.

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness and patience; Colossians 3:12 ESV

I used Catherine Pooler Designs Amber’s World for the globe and Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Genuine Love for the tiny love sentiment. I found some framed index dies on Amazon & I tried to do some research to make sure they were not knock-offs, it’s still possible but I didn’t find anything before I ordered them & opted to use the heart frame to fit my theme. I used gel pens to color and hand lettered the verse.

Spread some kindness & joy tomorrow. Have a great day!

Straight Path

Hi Angels!

I hope you’ve had a great Saturday!

I started off my morning by listening to yesterday’s lesson on the Creative Worship group & planned to journal it today but inspiration popped up after today’s Bible study in Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in ADONAI with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight.” TLV

Last year I specifically ordered the Simon Say Stamp’s Stamptember collaboration with Memory Box Life’s Path set for a Bible Journaling page similar to what I was inspired to create today.

Since I was going to do a watercolor background, I used Tomoe River FP Cream Loose Sheets paper, it is very close to the paper some Bibles are printed on and attached it to the page in my Interleaved Bible opposite Proverbs 3 when I was finished.

I used Koi Watercolors for the background, then stamped the Memory Box trees to create a path. I used the Koi’s to deepen the color on a few trees then splattered gold and copper Gansai Tambi watercolors for a bit of shimmer. It need a little bit of something so I pulled out my old FSJ Thread Sketch background & added just a bit here & there using a portion of the stamp in Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide. After deciding what I wanted to say I pulled out many Sweet ‘n Sassy sets to create my statement. I used He Is, Love Your Neighbor, God is Good, Words of Life: Actions, Go God’s Way and Skinny Caps, Bitty Minnie, Teeny and Sweet & Simple Alphas. A lot of the Creative Worship stamps sets have stand alone words to create verses & sentiments with & the alphas help fill in the rest.

A lot of work but I so enjoyed creating this page today.

Have a blessed Sunday!

Psalms of Praise & Thanksgiving Faithful Forever

Hi Angels!

It took a couple of days to work on the design but I completed my Bible Journaling page from last week’s Tuesday lesson on the Creative Worship group. It was nice to create an interactive page.

The lesson’s focus was good but since Psalm 100 is all about praise & thanksgiving & that’s what I have been studying in the Psalms, that’s what I focused on.

Psalm 100
A psalm of thanksgiving.
Shout joyfully to ADONAI, all the earth!
Serve ADONAI with gladness.
Come before His presence
with joyful singing.
Know that ADONAI, He is God.
It is He who has made us, and we are His.
We are His people,
the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving
and His courts with praise!
Praise Him, bless His Name.
For ADONAI is good.
His lovingkindness endures forever,
and His faithfulness to all generations. TLV

All the stamps are from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps with some graph paper & collage tissue for my daisies. I used Let’s Do This, In His Image, Bitty Minnie & Teeny Alphas, He Is, Flower Garden, Texture Tiles 11 and Faith Wordfetti & Faith Wordfetti Too.

Have a Fabulous Tuesday!

Thirsty Soul

Hi Angels!

My allergies are certainly making things difficult this week between the high pollen counts & poor air quality. Plus I am trying to get used to posting earlier in the day.

We had a couple of Bible Journaling lessons over on the Creative Worship Bible Journaling group this week. I am still working on the 1st page but completed today’s lesson taught by Hillary Krippaehne from Creative Faith & Co. The lesson was on the importance of spending time with God in prayer & in the Word. Something I have been working on being more consistent with for the past several months. There is so much happening right now in the world that staying rooted is the perfect place to be.

Today’s focal verse is Luke 5:16, even Jesus sought solitude & prayer time to refresh Himself during His ministry.

“Yet He would often slip away into the wilderness and pray.” TLV

I used Hillary’s Thirsty Soul stamp & die set collab with Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps and SNSS He Is with some of my hand painted papers on a stippled background.

I am hoping to finish up my page from the 1st video this evening and be able to post tomorrow.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend ahead.

Delight Mini Journal

Hi Angels!

I hope you’ve had a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

I have done some more organizing and finished a couple of projects. I will be working to move my posts to earlier in the day this next couple of weeks and hopefully coming up with some ideas for videos.

Speaking of videos, boy am I rusty! I did a video yesterday of this mini album I worked on most of last week after the tutorial was presented in the Creative Worship Bible Journaling group. Here are the photos and the video below.

The front & back covers. I used some of my hand painted paper with Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Script, Grunge Dots & Fall Leaves stencils. For the leaves I applied Versamark ink through the stencil & embossed in clear with sparkle embossing powder. The coneflower is from Blessing in Disguise and the larger sentiments throughout the book are from Faith Phrases. The tabs are stamped with Faith Wordfetti and Faith Wordfetti Too.

Inside front & back covers. The original was a paper bag album. I didn’t have a paper bag handy so I recreated the same style from card stock. The pocket on the back would have been the bottom of the paper bag. The signature in the center is 8 sheets of heavy weight copy paper to form the journal and are stitched into the cover. This allows you enough pages to do a monthly scripture verse study, sermon notes or prayer requests or however your would like to use the journal.

Mini trifold booklet to tuck into the back cover pocket.

The front & back pocket inserts with plenty of more room for notes/etc.

This little book was so much fun to create. It’s 5.5 by 5.5 inches in size. Suitable for any theme and just perfect to take on the go or to give as a gift.

I hope you enjoyed the details of this fun little book. I can’t wait to use if for some small size Bible Journaling.

Have a Fabulous Week!

Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Stamp-a-thon Bible Journaling

Hi Angels!

Happy Monday!

I finished up the 6th challenge from the Stamp-a-thon, Bible Journaling. The lesson was on peace and I chose Isaiah 26:3

“You keep in perfect peace one whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” TLV

I did a watercolor wash background then stamped Shalom with the Sweet ‘n Sassy Curly Girl Alpha, peace with the Waymaker set, the bird is from the Beautiful Birds set & the accent branches from Fur-ever Friends. I hand lettered the remaining sentiment and colored in with colored pencils.

I have one more challenge to complete for the Stamp-a-thon so hopefully I can finish this week. It’s a busier week than normal. Stay tuned for more 3-D embossing class techniques. I’m off to do today’s homework now.

May your Tuesday be filled with peace.

Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamp-a-thon Stencil Fun

Hi Angels!

The weather & allergies are just slowing me down this week, I feel like I should have a lot more done than I do.

I had fun creating these cards but actually had entirely different ideas for 2 of them. Will have to revisit them later because they just weren’t jelling.

The 5th challenge was stencils with 3 different techniques presented and of course I did all 3.

Tone on Tone stenciling. Darker over lighter ink blending
Stencil “stamping” or what I call reverse printing
Stenciling with water over water reactive inks

I put the technique under each card. Card 1 uses SNSS Autumn Gnomes & Blessings & Thanks. Card 2 features Flowers in Bloom and card 3 Blooming Anemones. On card 3 the sentiment didn’t stamp well so I did a smaller matching piece with the same technique to re-stamp the sentiment on & added it onto the card. Sometimes it just takes a little thinking to successfully rescue a card.

I hope you have a great Friday, the weekend is almost here.

Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamp-a-thon Anything but a Card – Ornament

Hi Angels!

I was finishing up one of the other Stamp-a-thon projects so posting a bit late tonight.

The 4th challenge was anything but a card. Since I have been sorting & organizing, I had just put some ornaments in their new home so pulled one out to create with.

I had to take a picture in different lighting, the cute pink nose & cheeks were washing out. I stamped with permanent ink & heat set on the porcelain, then colored with alcohol ink markers. The color was quite pale so I went back over the coloring with colored pencils, then sprayed with workable fixative. I used a retired SNSS stamp set Cozy Friends.

Enjoy your Thursday & do something nice for someone, the world can use some extra kindness right now.

Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamp-a-thon Teabag Stamping – Glorify

Hi Angels!

Challenge 3 for the Stamp-a-thon was one I hadn’t done in quite awhile, teabag stamping. Right about now some may be asking, huh? It’s fun to see what different things you can create with & stamp on and through the years I’ve tried a lot through various art lessons.

If you are a tea drinker, like I am, you can dry out your teabags, gently open them up, brush away the tea leaves & have a thin tissue like tea stained piece of paper to stamp on.

The fun thing about this Stamp-a-thon is it wasn’t just cards. With the teabag stamping lesson also was collage & mixed media. I decided on a page in my Praise & Glory journal and dug into my collage box for my background. I used the teabag to stamp glorify from Sweet ‘n Sassy Words of Life: Actions & Flower Garden for the butterflies. I’ve been gathering verses from the Psalms as I read & chose Psalm 83:19

Let them know that You alone – whose name is ADONAI are El Elyon over all the earth. TLV

El Elyon is translated Most High.

The teabag piece is translucent on the page like vellum would be. If I can get some more of the studio in order, I’ve been toying with doing more mixed media/collage work. I forgot how fun it is to play with “outside of the box” art supplies.

With the chaos in the world at the moment it is good to remember God is above all and still in control. Praying for Afghanistan & our troops.

Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Stamp-a-thon – Blessings Mini Slimline

Hi Angels!

I was intending to post last night, then the internet went down for 15 hours after a power bump so….

I’m still playing with projects from the Stamp-a-thon Saturday. I actually created 3 of the 7 projects on Saturday & now am working on the last 4.

The 2nd challenge was to create a mini slimline card something I’d hadn’t done yet as I like full size slimlines. It was a fun change.

I used Sweet ‘n Sassy Fern Fronds Stencil, Blessings die & Blessings in Disguise stamp set. The blended die cut & stamped leaves is my first blending attempt from my deer card. I didn’t like the original order of the blended greens so I rearranged them for the deer card. I then just blended some of the colors through the stencil and added a pop of purple for contrast. My favorite color combo purple & green.

I hope your week is off to a great start.
