Monochromatic Bouquet

Hi Angels!

I created a quick tone on tone card tonight. I had a busy and productive day including spending a couple of hours with my youngest granddaughter. We sorted out 2 of my small baskets then we did some coloring. I cleaned the studio for this weekend’s event and got some of my homework done.

I pulled Taylored Expressions Sketchbook Bouquet out thinking about a black & white card & create this instead.

I used cream, a lighter kraft color & gold embossing & splatters to keep it tone on tone. The sentiment is from Taylored’s Sweet Sentiments set.

A big final prep day tomorrow before Friday’s festivities kick off. I’m sneaking out long enough for a pedicure. Pretty toes & a few minutes in the massage chair is a great way to start a creative weekend.

Floral Wall

Hi Angels!

Sometimes you just have to grab what’s available for a quick card. It’s been a busy day of errands so not much time for creating. I’m still pretty much keeping my errands to one day a week so I crammed a lot in today.

I picked up a couple of my SCT Samplers and pulled this 3×4 card out of the August kit from the Simple Stories Sunkissed Collection. I grabbed my Shiplap background from Taylored Expressions & pulled a sentiment from the Simple Strips background that I keep a pre-cut & stamped package of and instant card.

Looking at a quiet day tomorrow, a bit of time with my youngest granddaughter & more prep work for Crop & Create this weekend.

Do you have any plans for World Cardmaking day Saturday?

YAY! Celebration

Hi Angels!

I hope your weekend has been truly fabulous, blessed & you had the opportunity to share some kindness.

We should be home by now but I’ll bet tired so I’m glad I got some cards done before I left to schedule.

I had a spare YAY! Caps Lock die cut from Taylored Expressions cut & assembled in black and thought it would be a great small test piece for the new Iuile Watercolors Christmas Palette I ordered. The watercolor is supposed to look great on black and it does. I’m not sure the photo does it justice for how incredibly glittery it is.

I did a bit of ink variegation on the Gifted Background stamp and add a sentiment from Simple Strips Birthday. A fairly easy card that looks like it took a bit of work to pull off.

This week will be a little bit busy and the excitement is building for next week’s Crop & Create Deliver Cardmaking Event on World Cardmaking Weekend!

Have a wonderful week & keep sharing kindness!

Owls with Great Love

Hi Angels!

Today’s card was lots of fun and reminds us to do all things with love.

These Taylored Expressions Owls from the What a Hoot stamp, stencil & die combo are so cute. I stamped them onto one of my hand painted backgrounds and die cut them out. I used the stencil to create the background. I did one color, then shifted the stencil a bit for each of the other colors. It turned out great. The sentiment is from the Beautiful Soul stamp set.

Have a Blessed Sunday tomorrow!

Grateful Kindness

Hi Angels!

While sorting & organizing, I found a couple pretty fall pattern papers and set them aside to make a couple of cards.

Tonight’s card is the first creation with a piece from an old Bo Bunny collection.

I added a Penny Black Grateful die cut with a Taylored Expressions Simple Strips Background sentiment. A couple of blue sequins that play off the blue berries in the pattern and a quick card is done.

We are off on a family weekend tomorrow so the next couple of posts are scheduled with more creative goodness.

Don’t forget to share some kindness and have a Fabulous Weekend!

Autumn Abstract

Hi Angels!

I worked on 5 different projects today and completed 4, whew! Some were as simple as printing some Bible Journaling printables but still did quite a bit in the studio.

Since I have been sorting & organizing, I’m trying to make it a point to work with some of my newer supplies & some of my older supplies. I had not had a chance to play with my Taylored Expressions In The Abstract kit so here’s my first card design.

Usually I don’t create a lot of fall themed items but this year may be the exception. The kit’s main item is the Abstract Accents Stencil & Stamp Combo. I used Candy Apple, Ripe Persimmon & Fossilized Amber Distress Oxides for the background stencil shapes. Stamped a couple of elements from the coordinating stamp set and added a sentiment from the Beautiful Soul stamp set. I used the Branch Out dies set for the leaves.

Speaking of fall, the cooler temperatures today certainly hint at fall & are a welcome relief from the recent heat wave.

Share a little joy and make someone smile tomorrow!

Bold Branches

Hi Angels!

I hope your week is going well. I was planning on posting last night but I got sidetracked with some research.

I had enough strips left over from the Taylored Expressions class a couple weeks ago to do another background so I worked on a 2 card set.

I’ve seen a lot of card designs lately with the strip backgrounds & die cuts to create 2 cards so I thought why not? I used Taylored Expressions Bold Branches which was the free stamp set with qualifying orders in July, the Gathered Greenery & Simple Strips Backgrounds and Field Notes. I also used hand colored scraps from some of my backgrounds to stamp the leaves on & behind the open “window” left by cutting out the hexagon.

Tomorrow is slated for more organizing & hopefully finish up some of my Altenew retreat cards.

Have a Terrific Wednesday!

Natural Smile

Hi Angels!

I hope you have had a great weekend!

It’s been a stressful few days caring for our pup but he slowly seems to be on the mend. He has Vestibular Disease or what I’m calling vertigo with really inflamed nerves in the inner ear. It’s common in older dogs & can take a couple of weeks to resolve.

As much as I wanted to be in studio creating, I was just too tired the past couple of days. So I popped in tonight & grabbed some of my infamous Bits & Pieces.

I had cut an extra birdhouse awhile back & it’s been floating around on my desk along with the wood plank background that wasn’t the right color for another card. I added a sentiment & bird & instant card.

I hope to be back in the studio most of this week and hopefully revisit some of the great 5 Ways in 5 Days projects. I’ve eliminated as much extra from my week as possible so I can be near Reilly while he continues to heal. A fairly quiet week will be good for both of us.

May your week be full of sunshine & smiles.

Simon Says Stamp 5 Ways in 5 Days- Day 2 Sparkle

Hi Angels!

Busy day & I’m tired. I got more sorting done in the studio, the new carpet was put in & the bedroom is almost back together and I got one of the 2 cards I started done for Simon Says Stamp 5 Ways in 5 Days.

Today Yana Smakula shared different ways to add sparkle to a card and I managed to get 3 different sparkles from my supplies on this card.

It’s very glittery so it’s hard to photograph. I didn’t have the medium Yana used but I did have Taylored Expressions new Glitter Grab that I hadn’t tried yet. I applied it through Taylored’s Winter’s Beauty Stencil then I grabbed some glitter I’ve had forever and tried for a striped effect. The outside edges are a light lavender glitter but just looks like a different white in the picture. The center is a mixture of white & silver glitter. Not perfect but very cool. I added a glitter rhinestone in the center & die cut peace out of glitter paper.

I will try & get my second card I started done soon but it may be after this week. I’d like to try & get something done for tomorrows 5 Ways and it’s an errand day so time will be short.

Have a Great Wednesday!

Simon Says Stamp 5 Ways in 5 Days – Day 1 Ink Blending

Hi Angels!

I hope your week is off to a great start!

No art sorting done today because we were clearing the master bedroom for new carpet tomorrow. But I did get a little more sorting done there.

I popped in on Simon Says Stamp new Summer Crafty Series 5 Ways in 5 Days today & decided to play along as the week allows. I didn’t have the Simon Says Stamp products that Laura Bassen used in today’s video so I challenged myself to use what I have.

I love clean & simple graphics. I used Taylored Expressions Masking Stencils Rectangle & just shifted it a bit to get the layers for the first card along with Pink Fresh Studio’s Happy Birthday. For the 2nd card, I created circle layers with my Hero Arts Infinity Dies Nesting Circle set & Yupo paper. Yupo makes great reusable stencils with your diecuts. The celebrate is from Penny Black.

So much fun but it’s off to bed, the carpet guys will be here bright & early in the morning.

Have a Terrific Tuesday!
