Elegant Sympathy

Hi Angels!

Popping in while on vacation to share a card I made for a dear friend after her brother passed. Although we never like to think of these events, it’s a reality to our lives & it helps to have a stash of beautiful cards on hand when they are needed.

This card uses the new Blooming Sprigs Cut & Emboss folder from Spellbinders. White on white is always elegant & classy. I added just a touch of color underneath the cut areas with some handmade background paper.

Basic card directions:

  • Cut a Whip Cream cardbase 4 1/4″ x 11″ & fold in half.
  • Cut a Whip Cream mat 4″ x 5 1/4″  & emboss with the cut emboss folder. (Pro-tip: Pay careful attention to the sandwich for your die cutting machine for these embossing folders. They are thicker than normal. The sandwich that worked for both my Plantinum 6 & Big Shot machines was platform, embossing folder with cardstock inside & one cutting plate.)
  • After embossing, I used scraps of handmade background & adhered small circles of color behind mat piece. Attach completed mat piece to cardbase.
  • Stamp the Sympathy verse from the Strength & Hope stamp set in Clear Pigment on Whip Cream cardstock & emboss in Silver embossing powder & die cut. Pop onto card.

Thanks for popping by to check out today’s card.  I am planning a Cut & Emboss class for January. Stay tuned for the New Year updates.

Do something this week to make a friend smile.
