Fun Stampers Journey Blog Hop Outdoor Fun

Blog Hop Banner

Welcome back to my blog & the Amazing Journey Blog Hoppers Hop! This month our theme is Outdoor Fun. If you arrived here from Allie’s Blog you are right on track. If not just keep hopping & you’ll come full circle.

Previous-2

Our family has indulged in hiking for a long time. I can’t do it as much as I used to with cranky joints but I enjoy every minute even if it’s easier trails these days. I am originally a Washington State native & like to say I was born in the shadow of Mt. Ranier. It always has been one of my favorite mountains and was the inspiration for this months card.

August-Blog-Hop

A lot of the pictures of Mt. Ranier show the mountain shadowed in blues, so I used that for my design cue. The card base is Huckleberry Fusion. I took a Whip Cream panel & colored it with Panpastels for the background. After stamping the mountains from the Climbing Mountains stamp set in Huckleberry Fusion ink, I fussy cut them & colored them with Color Splash pencils. The snowcapped peaks are dusted in Sparkle Dust. The images are layered & popped with Journey Foam Squares onto the background. I stamped the sentiments from Climbing Mountains & Adventure Awaits stamp sets in Black Licorice ink.

I hope this card inspires you to adventure. Your next stop on the hop is Betsye’s blog.

Thanks for stopping by. Stay Tuned for updates on the Sassy AngelS Studio remodel & upcoming classes.

  1. great card — makes me wish i had not banned glitter and embossing powders form my work space! That mountain set makes me think of the Smoky Mountains where the layers of mountains take on green and purple tints too … thanks for sharing this card and making me want that set of stamps all the more now … 😀

  2. A fun scenic card…this would make for a great addition to a scrapbook layout showcasing any of your camping pictures you have.

  3. Hi Ruth. What a beautiful card. I too love how you personalized your post with your story. Thanks for hopping this month. –Christine

  4. The mountain set is my favorite Adventure set. Love how you put them together into a range of mountains. Nice coloring, too!!
