Hey Angels!
Welcome back to my blog for another great FSJ hop! We are celebrating the holidays & Bringing Paper to Life! If you arrived here from Debra’s blog then you are right on track. If not, just keep hopping along until you come full circle.
I created 2 cards for you this time. I was playing with a concept & well one led to the other. You don’t always have to have Christmas stamps on hand to create great cards. I used a combo of non-holiday & holiday stamps to create these cards. Here is card #1:
This card was so much fun. I used the new Host Exclusive from the Journey Holidays catalog, Dashing Deer Die as the start of this card. He needed a forest to go with him so he got one with the Fresh Forest stamp set. Card base & sentiment are done in Blue Lagoon. The deer was die cut from Oatmeal Cookie & stamped in Oatmeal Cookie ink with the Coils & Curls stamp set to add interest. The trees were stamped with my custom green Create-a-Palette ink pad. I used my Pool Play Splash Pencil to create my landscape, the wet glue washed out the color a bit when I added in the Sparkle Dust for snow. This quick card made me decide to do a variation on the theme. So here is card #2:
Where card #1 is more elegant, card #2 is just plain cute. This time I added in the Creature Comforts critters to my forest scene. These cards will be featured in my next 10-10-10 Class next Saturday the 26th.
I hope you enjoyed these 2 holiday cards. Be sure to check out the new Journey Holidays catalog. I am sure you will find lots to make your fall & winter holiday creations fabulous!
Please hop on over to Heather’s blog to check out her wonderful art.
Those treeeeeees! The colors are gorgeous! And I love the pattern on the deer! Such a fun idea!
Great cards! Love the trees using the Create A Palette! I just inked one and hope to play with it soon. I love the Dashing Deer die set (yeah, I used it too for the hop) and the critters are just too cute!
Love these cards!! I like the idea of using stamps you normally wouldn’t think about as Christmas stamps.
Love that deer and your trees are beautiful! So fun to play along with you!
