Hi Angels!
One goal for this year is more Bible Journaling & Bible art.
I actually sketched this design out the week of Christmas but didn’t start working on it until a week ago. I often sketch during church service and there was some point in the message that inspired this page.
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12.
Since my Twinkling H2O’s were still out, I painted the page with them so with the shimmer the picture is a bit difficult. I hand drew the page then decided the “sun” needed to represent the world. I hunted up some clipart and resized it to fit the spot. It’s fairly easy to trace through the page in my Interleaved Bible. Interleaved means every other page is blank front & back, perfect for large size Bible art.
Creative Tip: Watercolor means pretty wet wrinkly pages. I do use a heat gun to help dry throughout but the page is still fairly wrinkled. I have a Clover mini iron and decided to see if it would smooth down the page a bit. I used a thin tea towel between the iron & the page & I think it did a pretty decent job. It’s not perfectly smooth, I don’t expect it to be but it definitely made a difference.
There has been a great deal of unrest the past year and we will most likely see more in the year ahead. We are to keep our eyes on God, point to His light, love others and stand for His truth & justice. If what you stand for doesn’t line up with His Word & truth, you might want to consider a heart check. He is always waiting for us to call on Him.
Be the light. Share the joy. Make a difference.
