8 Weeks of Christmas Inspiration – Delightful Snowman

Hi Angels!

Ready for some holiday inspiration? Today I am kicking off 8 weeks of Christmas ideas to help you get ready for the holidays. This feature will replace the Stamp of the Month to Monthly Inspiration since I can now mix up my products & share more. I’ll be able to feature a die, stamp set, theme & more with the new feature.

This week’s post features the Spellbinders D-lites Snowman Etched Die with Fun Stampers Journey paper &  sentiment. Let’s take a look:

A very classic red & green combo for the holiday season & sure to delight the recipient of this card.

Card Basics:

  • Cut a card base from Candy Apple cardstock 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ & fold in half.
  • Trim the holly leaf print from Cozy Prints to mat size 4 ” x 5 1/4″ and adhere to card base.
  • Take a piece of Lemongrass cardstock & die cut with the largest Journey Oval & matching piercing die. I used an old Paper Studio embossing folder with holly leaves on it to emboss the oval.
  • Die cut the various pieces of the snowman out of scraps of cardstock & assemble. Pop onto oval with Journey Foam Squares.
  • Stamp “tis the season” from the Snowmen Days stamp set on Whip Cream cardstock in Candy Apple ink. Fussy cut & pop up on oval.
  • Pop completed oval onto the card base.

I hope you are inspired to get started on your holiday creations.

Have a Fabulous Weekend!

Enchanted Cat You’re Invited – Stamp of the Month

Hi Angels!

I am popping in with this week’s SOTM inspiration card. I really had fun designing this card. It’s the invitation for our 2nd granddaughter’s baby shower.  Enchanted Cat worked perfectly with the kitty theme.

You could easily change the sentiment out for a birthday card & still have a fabulous card.  Let’s take a look at how it was created.

Card Basics:

  • Cut a card base from Beach Ball cardstock 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ & fold in half
  • The background & coloring for the cat image were created by the following technique on the Gel Press:
  1.  Place several drops of the following reinkers side by side on your Gel Press in a vertical line.  Cosmic Grape, Grape Fusion, Turbo Teal, Electric Lime & Sour Lemon.
  2. Take your brayer & roll straight up & down through the colors shifting ever so slightly to one side to blend them together just a bit. Don’t overblend.
  3. Lay mat size ( 4″ x 5 1/4″) Whip Cream cardstock into blended color & pull a print of color.
  4. Without cleaning the brayer, reroll ink on brayer in same spot to transfer more ink to Gel Press & pull another print. You can repeat this with the brayer several times and will be able to pull 8 or more prints from one inking. Each inking will get lighter in color & give a different look.
  • After pulling your inked backgrounds, stamp the cat on a medium shaded background with Catalina Splash & die cut image.
  • Taking a lighter background, emboss with the All Stars Embossing Folder (Bloom Benefit). Splash background with Sparkle Silk & adhere to card base.
  • Stamp sentiment of choice on Beach Ball cardstock with clear pigment ink & emboss with custom blend of White embossing powder & Sparkle Dust & fussy cut.
  • Pop cat & sentiment up on card background.
  • Take scraps of Beach Ball, Grape Fusion, Limeade Splash & Lemon Drop cardstocks & punch an assortment of stars with the Star handpunch and glue randomly to background to finish the card.

I hope you will take the time to try this background technique, it’s really fun & if you try new color combos, you will have a stack of ready made custom colored backgrounds for quick cardmaking.

Thanks for popping by! Have a Fabulous Week!

Enchanted Cat Every Moment – Stamp of the Month

Hi Angels!

Boy was last week busy! I am still exhausted. However, I was able to volunteer for all 3 days of Angel Tree sign-ups at the Salvation Army, teach 2 classes to the Angels, along with hosting Angel Club & take 2 classes with Joanne Sharpe. Lot’s of art packed into one week.

Let’s take a look at this week’s inspiration card featuring the Enchanted Cat Stamp of the Month. I saw an idea on Pinterest & translated it into this card.

Look at that sparkle! It was very hard to snap a picture but it’s a beautiful card in person.

Card Basics:

  • Cut a card base from Whip Cream cardstock 4 1/4″ x 11″ & fold in half.
  • Take a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Whip Cream cardstock & die cut with the Geo Burst die. Set Aside.
  • Cut a rectangle frame from Whip Cream cardstock using the 2nd & 3rd largest dies from the Journey Rectangles set.
  • Glue the Geoburst die cut to back of frame & trim to fit. I applied glue to the center of the Geoburst frame & coated in Sparkle Dust glitter. You can also die cut the Geoburst die with a White Liner sheet attached, peel off liner & glitter.
  • Using the new Create-A-Palette Liquid Color combo in Cool Pool, Turbo Teal, Catalina Splash, Pretty Amethyst & Lavender Fusion, I stamped the flower on a piece of Whip Cream cardstock & die cut.
  • Stamp sentiment from Every Moment ATS (a Bloom benefit) in Catalina Splash, clean stamp, re-stamp in Clear Pigment ink & heat emboss with a custom Clear Embossing powder/Sparkle Dust combo. Fussy cut out sentiment.
  • Pop frame onto card base using Journey Foam Squares or Tape, pop flower die cut up on lower bottom left corner & pop up sentiment in upper right corner to complete card.

A little bit of work but so worth the effort. This card became my daughter’s birthday card. She loved it! It would also make a fabulous wedding card.

Find some time this week to refresh & pamper yourself. The holidays are almost here & you’ll want to take care of yourself so you can breeze through holiday time stress free.

Enchanted Cat Be Humble – Stamp of the Month

Hi Angels!

I am a bit slow sharing our SOTM inspiration this week. It’s the kick-off week of Angel Tree sign-ups at our local Salvation Army & I volunteer to help out. So 3 days of volunteering, Angel Club, teaching 2 back to back classes & taking 2 art classes doesn’t leave a lot of breathing room in the schedule. Add in a couple of migraines from allergies & I slow down a bit more. But I rarely let my headaches keep me totally down & I so enjoy what I do both in creating & helping others that it’s all worth it.

There are a couple of beautiful folk art style flowers in the Enchanted Cat set and after browsing some sketches, I decided on a simple design for this weeks card. I also enjoyed creating a new Create-A-Palette color combo to use this week. The Create-A-Palette is inked with Liquid Colors in Cool Pool, Turbo Teal, Catalina Splash, Pretty Amethyst & Lavender Fusion. (Pro-Tip: Clearly label your Create-A-Palette inked with Liquid Colors. Liquid Colors are water based & our reinkers are not so you don’t want to accidently mix the two.) Let’s take a look:

Such an easy card to create with lots of color impact. I do realize it might have been wiser to switch the purples in the palette, but after a few inkings where the colors are starting to blend better, it’s really quite lovely.

Card Basics:

  • Cut a card base from Whip Cream cardstock 4 1/4″ x 11″ & fold in half
  • Cut a panel from Whip Cream cardstock 2 3/4″ x 4″
  • To prepare to stamp flowers, place panel on card in desired position. (Pro Tip: I use removable tape to hold panel in place while stamping to get the overlap effect.)
  • Using the Create-A-Palette, stamp flower 3 times around card. (Remember your design rule that odd numbers look better.  3 flowers, 1 sentiment & 1 embellished corner give you 5 on this card.)
  • Remove panel &  stamp sentiment from Humble & Kind stamp set in Catalina Splash. Clean stamp & re-stamp in Clear Pigment ink. Emboss with a custom mix of Clear Embossing powder & Sparkle Dust.
  • Pop panel up on card using Journey Foam Squares, add Candy Minis in corner.

Thanks for popping in to take a peek at this week’s card.

Have a Fabulous Week & take the time to do something for someone else that brings them a smile this week. You’ll be glad you did!

Enchanted Cat Stamp of the Month – Autumn Greetings

Hi Angels!

Are you ready for some cooler fall temperatures? In Oklahoma it still fluctuates between hot & cooler temps this time of the year. Today it could be the air conditioner, tomorrow the heater.

I am just back from a 5 day retreat with the Sassy Angels. We really enjoy getting away for a bit of crafty fun & exploring. I did not get a lot of creating done with the recent Fun Stampers Journey announcement & preceding information meetings but can’t wait to share the details with you once I get a new business plan in place. In the meantime I will still be featuring all FSJ products in my creations this month. Then starting in November, I’ll be able to expand & add other products to my much loved FSJ products. Endless possibilities ahead.

I am featuring the Enchanted Cat stamp & die set for this month’s stamp of the month inspiration. This is a great set for all year round but fits in well with fall & Halloween too. Let’s take a look at this week’s card.

How fun is this card? I love combining purples & oranges for fall/Halloween type  cards. You can easily change the sentiment for Halloween greetings.

Card Basics:

  • Cut a Citrus Cooler card base 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ & fold in half
  • Cut a mat out of the new Fall-o-ween Prints paper pack 4″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere to card base
  • Using the large Journey Oval die cut a Limeade Splash oval & emboss with the Changing Seasons embossing folder & attach to card as shown
  • Dust Whip Cream cardstock with Panpastel Colorless Blender & stamp cat image in Pretty Pansy ink, clean stamp & re-stamp in Clear Pigment ink. Emboss image with Clear embossing powser & die cut image.
  • Dust Whip Cream cardstock with Panpastel Colorless Blender & stamp smallest pumpkin from the Martha’s Pumpkins stamp set in Citrus Cooler & sentiment from Hello Fall stamp set in Black Licorice. Clean stamps & re-stamp in Clear Pigment ink. Emboss images with custom Clear embossing & Sparkle Dust mix. Die cut pumpin & fussy cut sentiment. (note: I always use a MISTI for re-stamping.)
  • Using a Journey circle die, cut cresent moon from Summer Days cardstock. Cut full circle, then use die to cut crescent from full circle.
  • Pop die cut images onto oval on card base using Journey foam squares.

Thanks for popping in. If you’d like to join in my Stamp of the Month class this Saturday the 6th & make this card & a couple more, I’d love to see you.  Email for more info.

Have a fabulous week!

Life is Beautiful

Hi Angels!

Popping in with a bit of fall today. We had our Design & Dine a couple of weeks ago. We created the cute monster card from last week, this fall inspired card and a couple of Christmas cards.

Most people who know me know I am not a huge fan of brown, orange or red for clothes, home furnishings etc. But in the art world I play with them a bit more. I really like this print from the Fall-o-ween Prints pack from the Journey Holidays catalog & grabbed the dahlia set to compliment it. The copper embossing is the perfect accent to complete the look on this card.

Card Basics:

  • Cut a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ from Tangerine Fusion & fold in half.
  • Cut a 5 1/4″ x 4″ mat from floral print
  • Die cut a Square Film piece from Oatmeal Cookie, dust with Panpastel Colorless Blender, stamp sentiment from the Life is Beautiful in Clear Pigment ink & emboss with Copper & Sparkle Dust custom combo.
  • On Whip Cream cardstock swirl Rich Coral, Tangerine Fusion & Summer Days ink onto cardstock using a dauber. Heat set with a heat gun.
  • Dust inked cardstock with Panpastel Colorless Blender & stamp Dahlia flower in Clear Pigment ink & emboss with Copper & Sparkle Dust custom combo. Die cut flower.
  • Stamp leaves onto Lemongrass cardstock with Fresh Forest ink & die cut.
  • Pop sentiment square onto cardbase with Journey Foam squares and attach flower & leaves on corner of square.

Quick, easy & elegant & useful for a variety of occasions.

I’m officially on retreat with the local Angels. We are exploring, relaxing & having fun creating.

Find a bit of “me” time this weekend for  yourself, take a Sunday drive or spend some time with your friends.

Enjoy life!

Farmyard Friends Sunrise Birthday

Hi Angels!

Boy September flew by fast & was a bit of a wonky month for me. I am so tickled to have successfully completed posting inspiration for my 2nd Stamp of the Month feature. I hope you have taken note of some good ideas to use in your creations.

If you saw the Dance Life card I posted on Facebook about a week ago, this Farmyard Friends card was the inspiration for that card. I fell in love with the tiny floral print in the Good Life printed paper pack & the fence is just plain fun to create with. Let’s take a look at this week’s card….

My favorite thing about The Good Life collection is it is so easy to make a variety of cards for everyone. Change out the floral print & the card would have a whole new look & feel.

Card Basics:

  • Fresh Sage card base cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ folded in half
  • Floral mat 4″ x 5 1/4″ Adhere to card.
  • Use the fence die to create a Fresh Sage die cut for card & pop up on card with foam squares or foam tape.
  • Die cut sun out of Summer Days & Center circle out of Banana Cream using the My Sunshine Die set free Bloom Benefit. (pro-tip: with every $75 ordered from Fun Stampers Journey you get to pick a free product from our Bloom Benefit section in the catalogs. FUN!)
  • Stamp Birthday Wishes from the Birthday Pop stamp set in Lemongrass ink onto Banana Cream circle, clean stamp off, then using Clear Pigment re-stamp & add Clear & Sparkle Dust custom embossing powder to emboss & add sparkle. (I use a MISTI (non-FSJ) to do the double stamping.)
  • Stamp pig in Rustic Rose & Chicken in Sweet Berry on Whip Cream cardstock & die cut both shapes.
  • Adhere sun in center of card under fence.
  • Pop up pig & chicken with foam squares on each fence corner.

Your card is complete. Quick & easy.

I hope you enjoyed Farmyard Friends & The Good Life this month. I am already working on the October Stamp of the Month cards & heading off to retreat with the Angels this weekend.

Take some time to be creative or find a few minutes to refresh this week. You’ll be glad you did.

A Little Bit of Monster Fun

Hi Angels!

I don’t usually do Halloween but no one can resist a cute monster & this one is designed to be versatile year round.

This cute fella would be great for Halloween, birthday or a party invite. He’s from the Eyes on You stamp set in the Journey Holidays Mini catalog.

Let’s take a look at how he’s created:

Card Basics:

  • Grape Fusion card base cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ & folded in half
  • Citrus Cooler mat cut 4 ” x 5 1/4″ & die cut with the Lots of Dots die
  • Take a White Liner sheet trimmed to 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ & peel off one side of backing to adhere to back of Citrus Cooler mat. Fill holes with Sparkle Dust , rub into adhesive & brush off. Then peel off 2nd backing on White Liner sheet & adhere to card base.
  • Stamp tall monster onto Whip Cream piece & color with Color Burst pencils. I used #’s 10, 18, 21 & 23 combined and 34. Fussy cut around monster.
  • I set the words of choice from the Letterboard Sentiments stamp set on my MISTI & stamped in Grape Fusion, Citrus Cooler & Limeade Splash onto Whip Cream cardstock. Cleaned off the colored ink, stamped in Clear Pigment ink & embossed with my custom Clear & Sparkle Dust embossing powder. Trim around words.
  • Pop monster & words up on card with Journey Foam Squares. Add eyeglasses from Spectacle Fun embellishment pack and your card is finished

Have fun thinking outside the box with your stamp sets. They don’t always have to be used just for a particular holiday or event.

Enjoy Your Weekend!

Farmyard Friends Birthday

Hi Angels!

I may not have gotten 2 blog posts in last week but I will the next 2, yay! I did get 2 videos in last week & hopefully will be finishing up the mixed media canvas this week. Finally making a bit of headway in my schedule & creating. I am auditioning a new project tracking system  customizable to how I work. This is week 2 & the flexibility helps when a busy day pops up & everything is in one spot so I am not tracking multiple lists. Yep, I’m a list keeper, it works for me.

Our Stamp of the Month card this week is a great card for gals or guys & a wonderful way to use scraps up & mix some patterns. I don’t often mix patterns so this card makes if fun to play with them. It’s a reverse pyramid design.  Let’s take a look.

All these prints are from The Good Life Print Paper pack except the strip at the bottom. I used the same grassy stem from last week’s card on a scrap of Sweet Pear so piggy had some grass under his feet. Adding in the Barn Wall embossing folder made the perfect backdrop.

Card Basics:

  • Chambray Shirt card base cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ & folded in half.
  • Tin Pail mat cut 4″ x 5 1/4″ & embossed with Barn Wall embossing folder. Attach to card.
  • Pattern strips are all 1 1/4″ wide & cut into the following lengths: 4 3/4″, 4″, 3 1/4″ On shorter strip, I stamped the sentiment using Chambray Shirt ink.
  • Small strip under piggy’s feet is 1/2″ x 1 3/4″ & stamped with Fresh Sage ink
  • Piggy is stamped with Fresh Sage ink on Whip Cream and die cut
  • Assemble as shown, popping each strip & piggy up with Journey Foam Squares except the “grass” under piggy’s feet.

Tip: You could easily reverse this design, shorten the strips & create a wedding or birthday cake, allowing you to use up a few more scraps in your scrap pile. Solid colors could be embossed with embossing folders to create interest & texture.

I hope this card brings a smile to your day & some ideas of using up your creative scraps.

Have a Fabulous Week!
