I’ve been working on a study/art project for a couple of weeks now and finally got my new art journal started today.
About a month ago I treated myself & ordered the beautiful Psalms of Praise & Thanksgiving Bible set from Open Journey by Ingrid Blixt. Her products were shared during the Creative Worship Spring Retreat. Ingrid does all the artwork and the devotional with this kit is just wonderful. The whole kit is chalked full of different types of art goodies to Bible Journal with. I like that her products are available in your choice of actual products or digital.
Instead of working in one of my Journaling Bibles, I’m opting to do a separate journal for this adventure in art. I dug out a Donna Downey fabric covered journal I purchased years ago the first time I took one of her classes. I want to be able to do a bit more mixed media style & this journal has different size inserts making it perfect.
This opening page was super easy to create today with one of my watercolor backgrounds, a stencil & some stamps. The Psalms kit comes with a stamp set and the beautiful “praise” word is included. I used a variety of Sweet ‘n Sassy Alpha sets for the other words including Sweet & Simple, With Love, and Marker. I also used SNSS Bitty Hearts stencil for the background & a Posca Pen.
Now that I’ve got my journal started I hope to work in it quite frequently the remainder of this year.
