2021 Floral Calendar Nov/Dec

Hi Angels!

My 2021 calendar is officially completed.

A slight delay as I was enjoying the company of my oldest granddaughter yesterday. We did do a wee bit of creating.

Everyone needs a happy glittery penguin & snowman. I give Nora free rein with the Stickles when she is in studio, with a little guidance of course.

Here are the final 2 calendar pages.

I was “accused” of planning poppies for Nov & Veterans Day. It was actually not planned. I wasn’t happy with the flower choices I had pulled out & when I went digging for more, I decided on these from Wendy Vecchi’s Artworks LCS073 set. I’ve had it for ages & only used the set a couple of times before. I hope to dig into much more of my stash this year & use it.

December was created with Simon Says Stamp Winter Floral Mix Background. I’m swimming in snowflakes & snowmen but realized I had very few pretty poinsettia flowers that would fit the calendar page. Maybe something to add later this year.

I hope you have enjoyed this tour of my 2021 calendar. I am already working on new creations.

Have a Great Weekend!

2021 Floral Calendar Sept/Oct

Hi Angels!

We made it to the fall months on the calendar.

The sunflowers from Sweet n’ Sassy Stamps Like a Sunflower set were just perfect for September. They are not one of my favorite flowers, hubby is severely allergic to them, but this set is just charming. I also don’t like their big brown centers. If you know me, I’m just not a huge brown fan. I tried brown on these, it didn’t make me happy, so I tore it up, reprinted, re-stamped and settled on using green & bronze for my centers. Don’t be afraid to toss something & start again. Most of the time it’s just a few cents worth of cardstock & a bit more time.

October features Penny Black’s Stitched Flowers. I settled on orange to play off the more traditional pumpkin colors we see in the fall.

Thanks for stopping by.

2021 Floral Calendar July/August

Hi Angels!

I have more calendar goodness to share. I love how all my calendar pages came out but these 2 are a couple of my favorites.

July features Taylored Expressions Doodle Flower Background. Except for the greens, I have been selecting new colors for each month. July is a mix of several of the colors from the other months.

For August I used Penny Black’s Softly stamp. It’s one of my favorite flower stamps.

I hope these calendar pages are inspiring your creativity and bringing a bit of floral color in the middle of winter.

2021 Floral Calendar May/June

Hi Angels!

I am having so much fun painting my calendar pages and the Angels are too.

Part of my sabbatical was studio play days with a couple of classes here & there. The calendar class was Dec. 30th but scheduling conflicts occurred so make-up time become relaxed play days with a little extra guidance here & there. It’s nice to sit down & create with the Angels.

Today is the half-way point in the year, May & June.

This set was the most challenging to photograph so far. Both stamps have heavy/multiple lines meaning the silver/gold embossing reflects a lot. So this shot muted the shine better allowing the colors to show a bit more.

May is Simon Says Stamp Daisy Bouquet set. The flowers are painted in a white shimmer H2O first then I added pink tips. May is my birthday month & daisies are my favorite flower. I can’t actually have daisies around because my hubby is very allergic so pretty stamped ones are the next best thing.

June features Fun Stampers Journey Bloom Burst. Hydrangeas are so beautiful.

When taking photographs remember that natural light or being outdoors can sometime be your friend with difficult pictures. I took today’s picture near a window with some sunlight coming in but not enough to make the metallic embossing glare in the camera. I am by no means a photo expert and use what works from what I have learned. Sometimes the simplest tips are easier to remember than more technical ones.

Thanks for stopping by.

2021 Floral Calendar Mar/Apr

Hi Angels!

I’m still working on my timing but I got a lot done today.

Today I am sharing the March & April calendar pages. It’s been a bit tricky trying to photograph the pages with the silver & gold embossing I used so I’ve been trying different things & pick the best.

March features the beautiful flowers from Sweet n’ Sassy Stamps In This Together stamp set. I really love the little teapot and there’s also a teacup in the set.

For April I used Unity Stamp Co. You Have Made a Difference set. When I was looking at images of dogwood flowers on line, I saw this really interesting almost blood red flower. I like different so I picked out some deep coral watercolor paint for my flowers with a touch of gold in the shading. The wonderful thing about art is being able to do things that are different.

I usually pick out sentiments for my calendar pages but decided I just wanted the beauty of the flowers this year.

Thanks for popping in.

2021 Floral Calendar Jan/Feb

Hi Angels!

It’s time to debut the 2021 Calendar. I have been offering this calendar class I think for 7 years now. Could be 8 years but somewhere around that time frame. This year features watercolored florals.

I did every other month alternating silver & gold embossing for a touch of elegance. I brought out my Twinkling H2O’s for shimmer. I used Taylored Expressions Seasonal Sprig for January and an old Fun Stampers Journey set Sweet You.

Like a lot of artists this year, I am planning to use what I have on hand as much as possible. While I am puttering in my studio during my Glorious 60th year, I hope to create with a lot of things that haven’t been used yet as well as revisit some unfinished projects & see about the finishing touches on them. As you can imagine with well over 35+ years of paper art supplies, I have a small treasure trove here. I also plan to purge some more. When I do purchase I am planning to support local & small business shops as much as possible.

I hope your week is full of sunshine & blessings!

November Calendar

Hi Angels!

Nothing like finishing up my final calendar page half way through the month. It’s been on my things to do list for about 2 months, but since it’s for me, I push it to the bottom of my project list. Thankfully December was done earlier this year. Now I get to start designing next year’s calendar.

I used Unity Stamp Co. Planner Gal: All Little Things set for this page. The camera didn’t pick it up very well but I have been working on getting better on different skin tones. She’s not as peachy as she looks. It will take lots of practice & maybe a class or two to get better. Stretching your wings & art skills takes practice & determination.

I’ll see what tomorrow brings for posting. Princess Nora will be here and I am sure she will keep Grammy quite busy. Perhaps we can work on an art project together.

Thanks for stopping by.

September Calendar Page

Hi Angels!

Can you believe it’s September already? I’m not ready for fall & usually in Oklahoma it won’t start to show up for about another month. However given as strange a year as it’s been well……

I got my September calendar page colored & displayed. I used Unity Stamp Company’s Go Get It Girl set for this month. As a redhead in long sleeves she looks like she’s ready for fall.

Speaking of calendars, I’d better get prepped to design the 2021 calendar class. The Angels have been making them for I think 6 years now.

Looking forward to a little fun this month. Our spring retreat got cancelled so we are set for our fall retreat in just 2 weeks and will be gone for about 6 days. Yay! But first some troop card processing tomorrow & a class I’d better get designed for next Monday.

Thanks for popping by!
