MFT Camp Create Awesome Ombre

Hi Angels!

I got my final Camp Create project done today. A slight interruption while I traveled to Lincoln Nebraska for a 4 day mini art retreat. The final Camp Create project from this week was an ombre project. Let’s take a look…..

Working in my favorite color combo of purple & green, I did 2 styles of ombre on this card. Watercolor on the flowers with 1 purple Tombow marker and the background was done with 3 different green Distress Oxides. The flowers feature MFT Flowers in Bloom & the sentiment is from Beautiful Blessings 2.

I really enjoyed this 2nd week in camp. Stay tuned to my Facebook page as I have some adventures to share from my trip. Wild & Wonderful Summer day 79.

Treat yourself to some time to refresh this week!

MFT Camp Create Monochromatic Magic

Hi Angels!

I just love doing tone on tone cards or monochromatic if you want to be technical. First it’s a challenge to see what shades of the same color you can use & second how can you add interest & texture to the card using the same colors so it doesn’t appear flat & dull. Let’s see how I met the challenge….

Wouldn’t this make a great pink ribbon card? I used MFT Moroccan Mosiac stencil with Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick & Pick Raspberry Distress Oxides on a light pink background. Then I blended the same inks on some white cardstock to stamp the MFT Painted Poppies flowers on. They are stamped in clear embossing ink & embossed with my clear & sparkle custom mix. I then added the Beautiful Die-namics die for the sentiment.

I think I’ll have to give up on getting to bed early this week but hey I’m have a blast in camp! One more camp adventure awaits tomorrow.

Thanks for popping in.

MFT Camp Create Background Bonanza

Hi Angels!

We had a fun day in the studio today visiting & catching up on projects. I even got a wee bit of organizing done. Play days are a big hit so I am going to be keeping them on my schedule once or twice a month.

Today’s Camp Create video was a great inspiration to think outside the box when creating a background and making it your main feature on the card. Let’s take a look……

How fun is this? I used the MFT Stitched Clouds Die-namics to create my background. I also added some embossing to the white mat to create more interest. I used a couple of backgrounds I had created with the Ranger Ink Pearl Alcohol Inks so the clouds really shimmer. The sentiment is from the MFT Rainbow Greetings set.

So what do you have in your supplies that might make a cool background?

See you for camp tomorrow!

MFT Camp Create – Inlaid Die Cuts

Hi Angels!

My Favorite Things is hosting week 2 of Camp Create this week and just like the first week, my goal will be to play along everyday.

I have been a bit under the weather the past couple of days with my allergies & asthma. Camp is just the thing to help me power through and focus on a new adventure.

Today’s technique is Inlaid Die Cuts. Since I’m dragging a bit, I chose a simple design to work with that created 2 cards. Let’s take a look:

Isn’t this gorgeous? The background features MFT Garden Flourish background stamp done in emboss resist with watercolor powders. When I do backgrounds, I do several and then I can grab & go while creating. I paired it with the Wish Die-namic and sentiment from Essential Sentiments.

Card two is just as fabulous with the embossed background. I die cut the Wish Die-namic, layered it all back together in the Crafters Companion Zen Garden embossing folder to emboss. I then switch letters between both cards & easily made 2 cards in the time it takes to make one. I left the “happy” off from the sentiment & added beautiful crystal sequins to make this card sparkle.

I hope you enjoyed this visit to camp. Check back tomorrow for more inspiration & fun.
