Snowflake Noel

Hi Angels!

I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving holiday and you’re looking forward to Christmas.

While we were on retreat last weekend, I created a Christmas card to go with a small gift I picked up for our retreat hostess.

This came out so beautiful. I used Honey Bee Stamps Pierced Fancy Flakes A2 Cover Plate with Noel Buzzword die set and Catherine Pooler Designs Winter Frames Slimline Die set. I ink blended the background & word then added glittering snowflakes.

I’m busy resetting the studio from retreat & so I can work easily after my cataract surgery Tuesday. I’m still debating if I want to do a December challenge or not.

Have a Fabulous Weekend and spread some holiday kindness wherever you can.

Dream Flight

Hi Angels!

Do you have any fun weekend plans? Enjoy and share some kindness.

Today’s card has a bit of geometric & my favorite butterflies.

Featuring this month’s Catherine Pooler Designs Club Sursee set Take Flight, I did a slightly different version of the card Catherine did on a live last week. It was lots of fun I love the bright happy colors.

Take some time to relax this weekend!

Compassionate Heart

Hi Angels!

I managed to get my extra scheduled cleaning done today & do some creating.

My Bible study this morning was a great reminder of how even in the chaos of this current world, showing love & compassion to everyone is still the most important thing for us to do. Kindness is not very prominent and there is an awful lot of animosity going around. Perhaps instead of pushing agendas, a little bit of grace & kindness can be extended. A little bit of kindness & compassion can make a big difference in someone’s day.

I created this Faithdex card as a reminder that love makes all the difference.

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness and patience; Colossians 3:12 ESV

I used Catherine Pooler Designs Amber’s World for the globe and Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Genuine Love for the tiny love sentiment. I found some framed index dies on Amazon & I tried to do some research to make sure they were not knock-offs, it’s still possible but I didn’t find anything before I ordered them & opted to use the heart frame to fit my theme. I used gel pens to color and hand lettered the verse.

Spread some kindness & joy tomorrow. Have a great day!

Special Birthday

Hi Angels!

Many blessings for the week ahead. I hope your weekend was wonderful!

I got some tidying and a wee bit of organizing done today. I have been getting some extra rest & started some meds for my allergies & asthma to keep them from getting much worse that they have been. I am finally starting to feel a bit better.

After tidying I grabbed the infamous Bits & Pieces and created this card tonight.

I rarely discard a hand created background piece if it’s a decent size and this leaf piece caught my eye in the bits & pieces stack. When I used Catherine Pooler Designs Round of Happy on an earlier creation, I went ahead & put the opposite pieces together & stuck them into the bits & pieces too. A quick embossed background & a sentiment from CPD’s Happy Birthday Sentiments set & my card was complete.

Looking forward to more sorting, organizing & creating this week. There’s another Crop & Create Cardmaking event coming up for World Cardmaking Day weekend & I have some homework to do too. I have 3 events total to participate in for the remainder of 2021. I am certainly enjoying the online classes for my 60th year.

Starry Christmas

Hi Angels!

I sure was hoping to get more done today but a migraine just put a stop to that. I will be so glad when allergy season takes a break.

I did make a 2nd card from the Verity Biddlecombe class video. She encouraged looking at your everyday stencils to see if they can be used for Christmas.

I came up with this neutral beauty.

I don’t often work in tone on tone but I was watching a video a week or so ago and the idea popped to try the Champagne Mist Decofoil Metallix on craft cardstock. It’s been hard to find lately so if you have Nuvo Mother of Pearl Embellishment Mousse it’s a very similar shade. After applying it through Whimsy Stamps Star Dangle stencil, I thought maybe Christmas red or green would be great but I actually love the tone on tone look. Very country elegant. I used Catherine Pooler Designs Merry Christmas sentiment die and found a scrap of cream metallic paper in my scraps to match the cream card base. The overall subtle metallic shimmer makes the card.

I hope you are looking forward to some crafty fun this weekend.

Christmas Wreath

Hi Angels!

Allergies continue to sideline me including the dog, who went to the vet unexpectedly this morning for severe allergic dermatitis, so I didn’t work on anything yesterday like I wanted and today was a bit slow but I got a card done & started another project.

I have been wanting to make this card since I saw the video by Verity Biddlecombe from Pretty Little Button during the July Cardmaker Success Summit. I had no leafy wreath stencils, so hunted down the Altenew one she used & ordered it.

I love how this turned out. I probably wouldn’t do a large batch but it would be pretty simple to assembly line about 6 of them in a short period of time.

I switched my colors up a bit from the video but it’s pretty much the same design. I used Altenew’s Wonderful Wreath Stencil, Catherine Pooler Designs Merry Christmas Word Die and sentiment from My Favorite Things Bitty Holiday Wishes.

Hope you’ve found some time to work on your holiday projects. The holidays will be here before we know it.

Summer Birthday Fun

Hi Angels!

I thought I might work on some more of yesterday’s classes today but I’ve been making some progress sorting & organizing so spent the day purging & more. So far I have a new Bible study, Bible/art journaling and watercolor/coloring station, a wet media station (paints, colorbursts, alcohol inks, etc) and sorted out 24 medium organizer drawers that now need relabeled. I am celebrating every inch of space cleaned & organized.

I did create a couple of cards last week including this fun summer birthday card for a dear friend’s birthday today.

I used Catherine Pooler Designs July Club Sursee Sweet Summer set, Round of Happy Dies from the new Make a Wish collection and Portland sequin mix on one of my hand marbled backgrounds.

I hope you have a fabulous week ahead!

Gloriously 60 Day 58 Art – Puffin Fun

Hi Angels!

I hope your weekend has been grand! Hubby & I got a couple of household things out of the way today. The master bedroom carpet is ordered and we are working on some erosion control for our front yard.

I’ve had the elements for tonight’s card on my desk for a couple of weeks. Actually was making puffin cards with my granddaughter’s but mine got pushed aside for a bit. So I grabbed everything & put my design together.

Puffin Party from Catherine Pooler Designs is such a fun set paired with the Rocky Cove die. We had cut a couple of extra Rocky Cove pieces so I decided to trim an extra center & pop it out for more dimension. I need to play with some more beachy theme cards since it’s summer. I just love spending time near the water.

Gloriously 60 Day 48 – Every Day is a Gift

Hi Angels!

Well I spent a 2nd day out in the heat mowing the lawn for a little over an hour. Whew! I had a slow lazy day after that.

After seeing the new Catherine Pooler Designs Butterfly in Bloom done by one of the design team members on black with metallic watercolor, I wanted to try. So I heat embossed it & painted while watching a movie.

So pretty. The sentiment is from Catherine Pooler Designs One Liners Set. I’ll need to practice a bit more as some colors show up better than others on the black & not always the ones you think will.

Have a Terrific Friday!

Gloriously 60 Day 47 Art – Grow With Love

Hi Angels!

Today was my errand day out in the heat & I came home with a migraine. I tried to get as much done as possible before the high heat of the day but I was still out too long.

I didn’t want to fuss with a lot of coloring etc tonight so I pulled some pre-done background paper to design this card.

I love the tone on tone with a pop of blue. I used Catherine Pooler Designs Beautiful Beginning, Love Grows Here & Flourishes Background stamp sets & dies. The background is the shaving cream technique I did ages ago.

If it’s this hot this early in the year, we may be in for an intense summer. Could be a good thing. I can hide out in the studio & organize & play.
