Cards, Fun Stampers Journey

Christmas in July Fun Stampers Journey Blog Hop

Welcome back to my blog! We finally got our new house & I have been  busy unpacking & setting up. I managed to squeeze out a spot to create this week until the new studio is finished.

If you arrived here from Susan’s Blog you are right on track, if not, just keep journeying along & you’ll come back full circle.

This months theme is Christmas in July and with all the new goodies from the new Fun Stampers Journey  Journey Holidays Mini Catalog it wasn’t an easy choice on what to create. I really love the holiday birds available, so I picked Noel Chirp AT-0222, with the sentiment from Robin Holiday SS-0378 & the background from Pretty Flakes SS-0377. I went with a classic easy design since unpacking & getting settled in has taken top priority at the moment.

The card base is Catalina Splash, matted with Pool Play & accented with a Pretty Amethyst oval from the Journey Ovals. I am a huge fan of non-traditional Christmas color combos. For the background I stamped a snowflake in Journey Silver Fusion Ink & brushed the flakes with Journey Brush Silver PanPastel. I stamped the bird in Black Licorice Fusion Ink, colored with Catalina Splash, Pretty Amethyst, Pool Play, Citrus Cooler & Brush Silver PanPastels & fussy cut to pop onto the oval. The sentiment is stamped in Catalina Splash Fusion Ink.

Stay tuned for more projects & class updates as I get closer to opening up the new studio. It’s going to be amazing!

Now it’s time to hop on over to Kim’s Blog & see her wonderful creation!

Have a Fabulously Creative Week!

Valentine/Love Blog Hop

Welcome to the very 1st Journey Blog Hop featuring Fun Stampers Journey products & inspiration!

February Blog Hop

If you arrived from Rachael Shedeed’s blog, you’re right on track. If not, just keep hopping & you will see all the wonderful artwork in store for you today.

The theme for this hop is Valentine or Love creations. I like to make multi-purpose cards that can be used for multiple occasions, so I made a “Love” card. This card can be used for Valentine’s, Anniversary or just to say “Love You”.

I enjoy mixing up colors & this card is anything but the standard “love” colors. The card base is Cool Pool, layered with Pretty Amethyst, stamped in Pretty Amethyst Fusion Ink with the Whimsy Wallpaper background stamp. I then cut the largest oval with the Journey Ovals Dies & used the coordinating piercing die for some interest. I cut the next oval size down in Whip Cream & stamped “Love You” from the Sentimental Prints stamp set in Grape Fusion Ink. Layered these together & popped them on the card with medium Journey Foam Squares.

For the flowery details, I took Lemon Grass & cut out the vine border from the Border Details set. Played with its placement on the card & trimmed & attached. I added in a bit of detail to the leaves with a basic green marker. I stamped the flowers from the Sweet Today stamp set in Grape Fusion ink onto Pretty Amethyst paper. I die cut the flowers with the matching die set & then took my Details Pro Shears & trimmed the flower lines a bit deeper to shape the flowers a bit easier. For the circle flowers I stamped the small circle from the Sweet Today stamp set in Cool Pool fusion ink onto Cool Pool paper. I didn’t want a huge border around the circle flowers so I used the circle from the exclamation point die in the Seriously die set to cut out my circles. The Pretty Amethyst flowers are mounted flush on the card, the Cool Pool flowers are popped using the small Journey Foam Squares. I added medium Sparkle Drops to the flower centers to finish off the card.

I hope you enjoyed visiting my blog today. Please head over to Kathy Dowbenko’s blog to see what she has to share. If you get lost, the blogroll can be found here at Susan Berg’s blog.

Enjoy The Journey!

Angel Club, Cards, Fun Stampers Journey

Angel Club February

This month’s Angel Club was our first official introduction to Fun Stampers Journey products. Normally we do 2 cards but since I was looking at a house with hubby & there were several new goodies to investigate, we just did one.

I just love these cool cats! This is a CAS card, clean and simple. The stamp sets used were Cat’s Meow & Color Lines.  Paper & Ink were Black Licorice, Beach Breeze & Whip Cream. I used the Yummy Dots Embossing Folder to add interest & depth.

If you are interested in Fun Stampers Journey products, please visit my new Order FSJ Page above.

Join me here Sunday for the 1st official Fun Stampers Journey Blog Hop!

Enjoy Your Weekend!

Cards, Classes, Fun Stampers Journey

January’s Card Class

I am still working on consistently updating my classes. Being sick for a couple of weeks in January threw my time table completely off track. Look for updates soon on upcoming classes.

January’s birthday themed card class was a mixture of old & new since I hadn’t received my Fun Stampers Journey starter kit yet. Which actually made if fun to design with a wide mix of company’s products. And since I had so much fun creating the FSJ Spring Fling bunny card for Nora’s birthday, I figured why not have it for class too.

These top 2 cards were just plain fun. The one on the left was cased from a Pinterest post and of course switched up a bit with cloud dies from another company & using one of the clouds for the sentiment. My vellum was packed so I grabbed a tracing paper pad & used the parchement paper instead. Pre-packing to stage the house means I don’t have access to everything.

The 2nd set of cards were also cased from Pinterest. I believe the originals were brayered but these are sponged. And because we punched out the circle from the mask to sponge the cattail card, the circle got used in the plane card above. I love using elements this way to stretch creative supplies.

As much as I love creating original designs, caseing comes in handy when I am in a pinch. CASE stands for copy & share everything. When I case I try to change it up a bit. Feel free to case my artwork. Please be mindful of the copyright posted below.

Have a Blessed Week!

Bunny Birthday

My precious granddaughter, Nora turned one a couple of weeks ago. Her birthday theme was Bunnies!

When I was researching joining Fun Stampers Journey, I purchased a catalog, stamp & die set to check out the products. So of course I had to purchase the Spring Fling Bundle & make Princess Nora’s birthday card.  The bunnies in this set are so adorable!

Since I made the card before my starter kit arrived, the only FSJ products are the bunny stamps & die cut. The bunnies are hand colored with Prismacolor pencils.  The background pattern paper I found at Scrapbooks Forever on a trip to Branson a year or so ago & it’s been hiding in my stash. Here are the front & inside of the card:

And here is the birthday girl with the bunny grammie & grandpa got for her:

Yes, this grammie rocks pink hair! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!

Do something creative this week!

Fun Stampers Journey, SASS News

I Jumped Right Into A New Journey!

By now a good portion of the internet has seen Steve Harvey’s “Jump” video. We don’t stand on the sidelines or cliff edge & watch other people soar by, we are all meant to “jump” too. Take a risk, move out of your comfort zone, live your dream, work your passion, try something new; whatever is calling to you, “JUMP”!  We all need to trust God & take that step of faith into His plans for us.

I have always been creative. It’s in my DNA, it’s how I breathe, think & move through life. It took me a very long time to gain the self-confidence to trust that this was a good thing. A blessing. Once I embraced that blessing, I also realized it was important to bless others with my creativity. A special hand-crafted gift, helping someone else explore their creative journey, learn a new technique or tool, or simply sharing a blessing to make someone smile & brighten their day. I love being creative & I love sharing my creativity.

I made some decisions last year to “jump” into a new adventure. I wanted to change-up the same old, same old. So I came up with SASS, Sassy Angel’S Studio. My good friends & customers have been the Sassy Angel StamperS for a couple of years now.

I also made the decision early December to resign from Stampin’ Up! I had been a demonstrator for 8 years but recent changes & the company’s direction were no longer a comfortable fit for my ladies & me. It was a good run but sometimes you just know it’s time to move on.

So what do you do when you have a great group of ladies who like to learn & take classes? You “JUMP” right into a new journey! I am now a Fun Stampers Journey Coach! Woohoo! Coach fits so well with sharing & teaching.

FSJ Journey Coach Logo

My new kit arrives today and I’ll be creating with a fresh new perspective in no time. What do I like about Fun Stampers Journey? What’s not to like? They have wonderful deep etched red rubber stamps many with matching dies to make creating a breeze. Cardstock & patterned paper for card making, scrapbooks, mixed media & more. A wide variety of mixed media supplies, tools & embellishments for great techniques & any creative adventure you can dream of. I am so excited to share this journey with you!

If you would like a catalog or more information email me.

I will be posting more class info soon.

You will still see a variety of projects here with a variety of different products. After 30+ years of creating in papercrafts, I have a huge variety of stamps & supplies. As a good steward of what I have been blessed with it would be foolish not to use what I have.  The majority of my classes & clubs will be Fun Stampers Journey based, a girl’s got to have funds to have fun!

(I already had a couple of classes in the works before I became a coach so the next couple I post will not be FSJ based.)
