Snow Wishes – Get Cracking on Christmas

Hi Friends!

It’s been a busy week but I finally took a break to play a bit tonight in Jenn Shurkus’s Get Cracking on Christmas event.

This came out so cute. I did the background similar to what Jenn demonstrated tonight & pulled an already stamped image to color in.

The snowman & background stamp are both from Penny Black, Sweet Snowman & Snowflake Pattern, with a bit of non-traditional color for fun. I used Distress Oxides/Inks & Prismacolor pencils with glitter.

I have a few more items to post & another Christmas card to finish from tonight. I will be participating in the Bloom Wildly Creative Crate Event next week so should have a bit more inspiration to share in the coming weeks. I’m still sorting & organizing but am settling into a sort for a couple hours than make art routine.

Have a fun weekend. Find a bit of time to create, refresh, spend some time in nature & share a little kindness along the way.

Blessings!

Snowflake Fun Part 2 – Get Cracking on Christmas

Hi Friends!

I was so busy having fun with the alcohol ink & die cuts the other evening that I only got one of my cards completed.

So here is part 2:

Not one to waste alcohol ink scraps, I cut some more Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes out of the leftovers. I also used Lawn Fawn’s Snowflake Background stencils & Snow Day stamps for card #1.

I decided to play with both silver & gold foils with the alcohol inks so this is my gold card. It also features LF Stitched Snowflakes & Taylored Expressions Simple Strips Christmas.

Since I was using up glitter paper scraps, I now have several more snowflakes ready to go for future projects. I have a couple projects going to use up more of my scraps. I’m determined to thin out the studio even more this year.

I hope you have had a blessed weekend! Enjoy the week ahead & spread some kindness.

Blessings!

Snowflake Fun – Get Cracking On Christmas

Hi Friends!

Today started with wind chills around 1 degree…..brrrr! and a trip to the eye doctor for my final after cataract surgery check-up. I can see at 20/15 so for someone who was very near sighted, that’s really good.

Another goal this year is to participate in Jenn Shurkus’s Get Cracking On Christmas monthly events. It’s a great way to tackle a couple of Christmas cards each month, play with some Christmas supplies I haven’t gotten to yet & be ahead of the game for Christmas cards for 2022.

Tonight I was going to finish up a couple of unfinished cards from the Creative Journey Art Retreat but Jenn was playing with alcohol inks, something I haven’t done in quite awhile so I dug them out to create with.

It’s always fun to try & capture photos in the evening of shiny objects but I think I got enough of the silver foiling over the alcohol ink to see how it gives a beautiful marble vein effect. The snowflakes are the Stitched Snowflakes dies from Lawn Fawn and the sentiment is from the infamous Bits & Pieces box. I have 2 more cards to finish from tonight’s playtime.

So is it too early in the year to make Christmas cards or can you roll with anytime of the year?

Blessings!
