Gloriously 60 Day 60 Art – More Yourself

Hi Angels!

It’s here!!! We made it to day 60! My Gloriously 60 Art Challenge has been completed!

I promised a prize package but my blog wasn’t allowing comments, which I am having looked into but I also didn’t get many on social media either. I will go back through my posts & see if someone consistently liked or commented & surprise them with some goodies I have tucked aside.

Tonight’s card holds true to celebrating my 60th birthday all year long & taking a sabbatical. Becoming more of myself again after years of teaching & serving. Am I still serving & teaching, you bet, but in smaller acts instead of a full schedule. God encourages us to seek rest & I am doing just that & having fun playing in my art too.

Butterflies have been my symbol of life since I was a pre-teen. The transformation of change from a fuzzy caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly has always spoken to me & also embraces my life in Yeshua Messiah, Jesus. Embracing life no matter what is thrown at me good or bad times. Am I perfect, far from it. But hopefully I am continuing to learn, grow & become more of myself in Him.

I created this card with Pinkfresh Studio’s Butterflies set and a beautiful blend of Distress Oxides.

Thank-you for hanging out with me for my 60 day art challenge. Stay tuned, there will be some Christmas in July coming up and in August you may see quite a few slimline cards.

Have a Blessed July!

Gloriously 60 Day 59 – Painted Blossoms

Hi Angels!

We had a fun play day in the studio today marbling & using powdered pigments for card backgrounds & more.

Of course I had to make a card with one of my new art pieces. I used Gina K Designs Painted Blossoms & Harvest Flourish Stencil.

The actual background mat is a mop up piece from another play day with liquid colors on the Gel Press. I used Salvaged Patina Oxide ink through the stencil to enhance the background. Then die cut one of today’s art pieces to stamp the images on & pop up on the card base. Playing with color is always fun.

I hope your week is off to a great start. It’s a bit rainy here but when you play with color the sun comes out.

Gloriously 60 Day 58 Art – Puffin Fun

Hi Angels!

I hope your weekend has been grand! Hubby & I got a couple of household things out of the way today. The master bedroom carpet is ordered and we are working on some erosion control for our front yard.

I’ve had the elements for tonight’s card on my desk for a couple of weeks. Actually was making puffin cards with my granddaughter’s but mine got pushed aside for a bit. So I grabbed everything & put my design together.

Puffin Party from Catherine Pooler Designs is such a fun set paired with the Rocky Cove die. We had cut a couple of extra Rocky Cove pieces so I decided to trim an extra center & pop it out for more dimension. I need to play with some more beachy theme cards since it’s summer. I just love spending time near the water.

Gloriously 60 Day 57 – American Spirit

Hi Angels!

I hope you are having a fabulous weekend! My day included making my Death by Chocolate recipe for a work social for hubby’s job. Yum!

I really fell in love with Taylored Expressions Sketched Flag Background stamp. I seriously debated ordering it but kept seeing some fabulous samples so I finally ordered it with On the Block – Brave & matching die. Here’s what I created…

I realized I didn’t have too many patriotic sayings so I created American Spirit with Sweet n’ Sassy’s Teeny Alpha Set. Remember to take a look at what you have & see if you have something that will work without purchasing something new.

Have a Blessed Sunday!

Gloriously 60 Day 56 Art – Hopeful Heart

Hi Angels!

It’s been a fun filled day with my granddaughters but this Grammy is tired. Whew!

We all need a hope filled heart and the reminder of how blessed our lives truly are. Tonight’s card imparts that beautifully.

I’ve been working on coloring some images in the evenings and this Sketchbook Bouquet from Taylored Expressions was just about ready to turn into a card. The image is water colored with Tombow Markers. The background is double stamped with Taylored Expressions Splatter Background in 2 colors. I stamped in the first color then flipped & scooted the background a bit to stamp the second color. I really like how interesting it is without a lot of effort.

I plan to try the background in a couple different color variations to have on hand for quick cardmaking. Maybe I should host a background playday and try some other background ideas. Hmm…..

Stay cool, be creative & enjoy some summer sunshine this weekend!

Gloriously 60 Day 55 Art – Ombre Butterflies

Hi Angels!

I hope you are staying cool where ever you’re hanging out at. We had a short break from the heat but it came roaring right back.

Tonight I played some more with the Hero Arts Butterfly Circle Stencil that was included in this month’s SCT Sampler.

This quick clean & simple design would make a great gift set for someone in a variety of colors with a mix of sentiments. The sentiment I used is from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

My Gloriously 60 art challenge for my 60th birthday wraps up soon but stay tuned, I have ideas already lined up for July & August.

Have a Fabulous Weekend!

Gloriously 60 Day 54 – Nature’s Hello

Hi Angels!

I think I’ve finally got through the side effects of my knee shot & the knee seems to calming down, Yay!

Since I had a couple of errands today & we couldn’t miss the new episode of The Chosen tonight, I dug into the infamous Bits & Pieces box for today’s card.

Most of these die cuts have been hanging out in the box for about 3-4 years and when inspiration strikes made this great card. I cut the hello about a week ago to try for another card, it was too small & has been hanging out on my desk. Sometimes a little bit of this & that come together just right.

Tomorrow I get to tidy up the studio as the granddaughters get to hang out Friday. Hopefully they will enjoy coloring & painting or just hanging out to play.

Gloriously 60 Day 53 – Father’s Day Pup

Hi Angels!

A quiet day today with the steroid shot still causing a bit of havoc with my system & lot’s of knee icing. I did work on a couple of coloring projects.

My final Father’s Day card is for my Son-in-law Mike, hubby to my youngest daughter & dad to my granddog Louie.

I used My Favorite Things Woof Pack set for this cute pup.

This completes my Father’s Day series for my family. I did not get a card done for my hubby but he rarely wants one anymore & just gives them back to me after they have been on display a couple of weeks. He did get a trip in to both Home Depot & Lowes for his current projects. Often a pricey tool is involved. I think I got off easy with a $30 drill bit plus the parts for a new outdoor frost free faucet he wants to install.

Gloriously 60 Day 52 – Father’s Day Sea Breeze

Hi Angels!

I am so glad I have a couple of cards to share ahead with Father’s Day. I got a steroid shot in the knee today & it just took the wind out of my sails. I have had many knee injections usually to put fluid in or an “oil change” but sometimes steroids hit me hard. The good news, I am still a ways out from knee replacement. They told me 7 years ago when they repaired the meniscus in my right knee that I should have had a partial replacement and my surgery would probably get me 3 years time. I’ve more than doubled that & still good for awhile. God is so good.

Today’s card is for my son-in-law, dad to my precious granddaughters. I used Unity Stamp Company’s Lift Up Your Eyes.

My oldest granddaughter just loves rainbows so I thought that would make the perfect sundress and is perfect for summer too.

Tomorrow we get the master bedroom measured for new carpet. Yay! Working our way through house projects one at a time.

Enjoy your Tuesday!

Gloriously 60 Day 50 Art – Keep Smiling

Hi Angels!

Spent part of the day working/planning some home projects and finishing my Father’s Day cards, which I will start sharing tomorrow.

For tonight’s card I dug into the infamous Bits & Pieces box.

A fun butterfly card and a reminder to keep smiling & sharing joy throughout each day. What the camera & the light box capture is always interesting. In real life the sequins aren’t quite that bright blue but in the reflection of the light & lens they seem to stand out more.

Have a Blessed Father’s Day Sunday!
