Cozy Penguin – Creative Journey Art Retreat

Hi Angels!

What a fun weekend creating! I finished 10 of 14 cards with the remaining 4 in the works.

Today’s card features a fun penguin that could be used for several occasions.

We used Hero Arts Cozy Penguin and Sprinkled Dots Stencil. We ink blended 3 colors onto the card base, then placed the stencil on top & blended the same 3 colors over top the original colors. It creates a fun ombre blend. The “snow” on the bottom is Ranger’s Moondust Stickles Glitter Gel placed with a palette knife. Then I colored & assembled the penguin & popped him onto the card.

I hope you have a wonderful week ahead. Enjoy tomorrow if you don’t have to work, I know not everyone gets a holiday tomorrow.

Blessings!

December Round-Up Colorful Birthday

Hi Angels!

I thought a little bright happy color was in order for today’s post. Another Crop & Create class from the October event with Hero Arts.

Laura Bassen taught this class & she is always one of my favorite instructors. We used the Hero Arts Yay! Birthday Bundle and Party Confetti stencil. With the New Year approaching it’s time to start planning our occasion cards for family & friends for 2023. These would make a great start.

Have a fabulous week leading up to the New Year!

Blessings!

Silver Snowflakes

Hi Angels!

These first 2 days this week are fairly busy so I’m posting much later than planned.

I created the following card design for the Angels Christmas party tonight. Simple elegance.

Sizzix Jeweled Snowflakes on a brushed silver background, Simon Says Stamp Lea Snowflake die in Silver Mirror cardstock, Hero Arts Merry Christmas Message embossed in silver sparkle custom mix.

Enjoy tomorrow & spread some Christmas kindness!

Sparkling Christmas – Creative Journey Art Retreat

Hi Angels!

Busy day in the studio between my classes & sorting more.

Today’s card brings on all the sparkle using Concord & 9th’s All the Merrys and Hero Arts Poinsettia stencil.

We did an ink blend fade on the background, then I added Bo Bunny Sugar Glitter Paste through the stencil. If you do this be sure to clean the ink off your stencil before adding the paste through the stencil. Most stencils line up again easily.

An awesome part of this retreat was that most of the stamping & die cutting was done for us & sent in card kits to complete each card. We added our card bases & any extras we wanted.

Have a really awesome day & share some kindness along the way.

Joy Shared

Hi Angels!

I had a quiet day at home doing some clean up in the studio & preparing for Taylored Expressions Online Crafty Class tomorrow.

I grabbed a few things on hand after tidying up to create tonight’s bright summery card.

I had the ink blended background on hand from another project so it was really easy to die cut out the Hero Arts Butterfly Confetti Fancy Die, bonus I have a lot of rainbow colored butterflies to create a couple more cards with. I used My Favorite Things Sending Christmas Joy Die-namics for the large Joy diecut and Taylored Expressions/Brutus Monroe Crafty Simple Strips for the sentiment. This card is sure to bring a smile to the recipient.

Have a Fantastic Weekend!

Hummingbird Beauty

Hi Angels!

I had a quick mini class today recreating the bunny card from a week or so ago. Lots of fun visiting.

Hero Arts taught us a class on Sunday with the Color Layering Hummingbird set & their Reactive Ink.

They all came out so different & beautiful. The first card we did a “batik” to the background, very easy. The second card we just did a direct to paper background and the final card is a watercolor wash after smooshing the ink on some acetate. The bird & flower on the final card are watercolored with the ink too. Inks that work in a variety of ways keep creating interesting.

One more class to share from last weekend’s event.

Thanks for stopping by.
