Joy Cards

Hi Friends!

It’s March and that means National Craft Month. I hope to do quite a bit of creating but….

Allergy & asthma season is here in full force & trying to sideline me with an upper respiratory. But I don’t take chances with my asthma & have been off to the doctor for proper medications.

A couple of weeks ago I made my first batch of Joy cards to bless others with. I believe I made 58 cards in about 3 hours and it was a great scrap attack to whittle down my white scraps.

You may also know them as Love or Blessing cards. I will be making more with other encouraging sentiments & thanks. I used a variety of Sweet ‘n Sassy stencils, Delightfully Delicate, Chicken Wire, Bitty Hearts, Diamond Tile & Vintage Doily. I also used Flower Garden, God is Good & Faith SNSS stamp sets.

Pretty easy once you have an idea what you want to create and a great way to brighten someone’s day. You can leave an encouraging note of thanks for your server at a restaurant, hair dresser, doctor’s staff, co-worker, or anyone you encounter during the day. Think of how many people you could bless with a simple, quick card.

Keep sharing kindness & praying for our world.

Blessings!

Sailing Into The Sunset

Hi Friends!

There are cards I pour a lot of heart into when I am creating them. I created this beautiful sympathy card for my son-in-law & youngest daughter on the loss of his sister from this life way too soon. The sudden & unexpected loss of a loved one is one of the most difficult to deal with. Please hold the family in your prayers.

I used Simon Says Stamp Your Light, Stampscapes Water Pattern and an old FSJ stamp set to create this card with ink blending.

Hold your loved ones close everyday and remind them you love them. Life can be unexpectedly short.

Blessings!

Great Light – Bible Journaling

Hi Friends!

I think I’m starting to hit my stride for the year and getting a bit more organized & things done.

I started 3 Bible Journaling pages the last couple of months of 2021 that didn’t get completed. So one of my January goals is to review the video lessons from the Creative Worship group & complete the pages.

Today I completed Isaiah 9:1 & 6:

The people walking in darkness will see a great light. Upon those dwelling in the land of the shadow of death, light will shine. Isaiah 9:1 TLV

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 NIV

As believers in Christ, we are still in Advent season as we await the return of our Savior and the ushering in of the new kingdom. Just as long ago the Messiah’s birth was eagerly anticipated, we should now be also eagerly awaiting the Messiah’s return.

I used Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Shine Your Light & Christmas Pine stamp sets.

We are halfway through the week. I hope it’s been a good one for you with a little kindness along the way.

Blessings!

Bear Hugs

Hi Friends!

It was my usual cleaning Monday, although I did sneak out afterwards for a quick pedicure and then settled in to create. I also took a few minutes to add an extra gift for some of my favorite rescues for the #bettywhitechallenge in honor of her wonderful life.

Today’s sweet encouragement card is sure to brighten up someone’s recovery time.

I used Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Bear Hugs set and colored with Prismacolors. The tiny hearts are from Catherine Pooler Designs Hello Amazing set I used a couple of days ago. I forget how difficult it is sometimes to stamp such tiny stamps but they just add the little extra touch. This card would be really easy to make multiples of.

I hope your week is off to a fabulous start.

Blessings!

Celebration Course

Hi Angels!

As hectic has life has been, I did work on some cards a couple days ago. My Son-in-law Mike’s birthday was yesterday and I pulled out Kindred Stamps Space Explorers set to to create his card.

I made a quick ink blended galaxy background & added splatters in gold & pearl Gansai Tambi watercolor. Gold embossing for the sentiment & hematite embossing for the space ship.

It’s been an exhausting couple of days with Reilly going back into surgery & trying to get everything done I could to stayed holed up at home while he recovers a 2nd time. He had a massive abscess they had to go in & clean up, hopefully he is on the mend for good. We are so thankful for all the prayers & well wishes.

I have to say as stressful as the past week has been with a recovering puppy, I have managed a couple of acts of kindness. Sometimes it’s just a matter of changing your focus from your current situation to helping someone else.

Spread some kindness wherever your go.

YAY! Celebration

Hi Angels!

I hope your weekend has been truly fabulous, blessed & you had the opportunity to share some kindness.

We should be home by now but I’ll bet tired so I’m glad I got some cards done before I left to schedule.

I had a spare YAY! Caps Lock die cut from Taylored Expressions cut & assembled in black and thought it would be a great small test piece for the new Iuile Watercolors Christmas Palette I ordered. The watercolor is supposed to look great on black and it does. I’m not sure the photo does it justice for how incredibly glittery it is.

I did a bit of ink variegation on the Gifted Background stamp and add a sentiment from Simple Strips Birthday. A fairly easy card that looks like it took a bit of work to pull off.

This week will be a little bit busy and the excitement is building for next week’s Crop & Create Deliver Cardmaking Event on World Cardmaking Weekend!

Have a wonderful week & keep sharing kindness!

Owls with Great Love

Hi Angels!

Today’s card was lots of fun and reminds us to do all things with love.

These Taylored Expressions Owls from the What a Hoot stamp, stencil & die combo are so cute. I stamped them onto one of my hand painted backgrounds and die cut them out. I used the stencil to create the background. I did one color, then shifted the stencil a bit for each of the other colors. It turned out great. The sentiment is from the Beautiful Soul stamp set.

Have a Blessed Sunday tomorrow!

Dream Flight

Hi Angels!

Do you have any fun weekend plans? Enjoy and share some kindness.

Today’s card has a bit of geometric & my favorite butterflies.

Featuring this month’s Catherine Pooler Designs Club Sursee set Take Flight, I did a slightly different version of the card Catherine did on a live last week. It was lots of fun I love the bright happy colors.

Take some time to relax this weekend!

Be the Change

Hi Angels!

By the time this posts, we will be relaxing in a cabin in Southeastern Oklahoma, one of the beautiful wooded areas of the state.

Tonight’s card is part 2 of the fall papers I found while organizing. I don’t remember where the fall leaves came from if someone sent them to me or they were some ephemera from a long ago class but they are definitely pretty and make a lovely fall card.

Another simple card, I just took a scrap of blended background to compliment & stamped the sentiment from an old Club Scrap kit.

Kindness definitely means stepping out for change to bring some light & hope to those around us. As simple as a smile or holding open a door for someone can bring a bit of joy to their day. Keep sharing kindness where ever you go.

Grateful Kindness

Hi Angels!

While sorting & organizing, I found a couple pretty fall pattern papers and set them aside to make a couple of cards.

Tonight’s card is the first creation with a piece from an old Bo Bunny collection.

I added a Penny Black Grateful die cut with a Taylored Expressions Simple Strips Background sentiment. A couple of blue sequins that play off the blue berries in the pattern and a quick card is done.

We are off on a family weekend tomorrow so the next couple of posts are scheduled with more creative goodness.

Don’t forget to share some kindness and have a Fabulous Weekend!
