Faith Art Day 22 – Friends

Hi Angels!

I had a wonderful birthday today spent with precious friends which lead to today’s creation. There are a few friendships listed in the Bible and Paul describes Philemon as a dear friend and fellow worker in the Lord.

Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord’s people. Philemon 1:7 NIV

I pulled out my tiny Journal the Word New Testament to create this page with some simple stenciling and a few die cuts.

Thank-you for the birthday wishes today.

Butterfly Blessings

Hi Angels!

I started this challenge card on Thursday when it was posted before we attended Riverdance’s 25th Anniversary show. Finished it on Friday & then ended up with no internet because while laying our new fiber line, they chopped through our existing cable line. Add in a couple of migraines & I think I’m stuck with off & on posting for awhile.

Thursday’s challenge was 2 colors, I chose my favorite combo of purple & green but decided while splattering to add in some gold. For challenges like this, I just start poking through my supplies & playing to come up with a design. It’s actually fun & inspiring.

I had finally picked up a couple of the Lavinia Sticker Stencil sets but hadn’t had a chance to play with them. I used both the positive & negative butterfly to create this card. Partially inspired by Riverdance, I pulled out my Judikins background stamp of the Book of Kells & stamped it into the butterfly center after inking & splattering. The diecut butterflies feature alcohol ink & I opted for a diecut sentiment.

Hopefully I can catch up on Friday’s & yesterday’s challenges tomorrow.

Thanks for popping by.

Whisper Fragile Truth

Hi Angels!

It’s been a minute. Allergies are still trying to win the war here. I have been doing some creating but can’t share just yet.

Eileen Godwin issued a challenge this morning on her group & I love a good challenge & it was just the inspiration I needed after a long day of errands to grab some supplies & create. The challenge was very basic – start with a stencil then add in a stamp or two.

I only have a handful of Lavinia stencils & I picked out Feather Leaf and grabbed some blending brushes that still had ink on them from another project to blend the background. I stamped Mooch in Versafine Clair, the neat part is because I used Distress Oxides, you can see the stencil pattern under the black ink. I decided the Fairy Orb needed color too & blended 3 different colors onto the stamp. The sentiment is an old Post Modern design stamp from my stash that is probably around 15 years old now.

It was so much fun just to grab a couple things, play & design as I went.

I hope you are having a great week!

December Round-Up Lavinia Style Birthday

Hi Angels!

Today we celebrate our oldest son’s birthday.

I loved this winter stag card tutorial I saw over on Lavinia Stamps Youtube channel and knew it would make the perfect birthday card for Matthew.

I actually had very little Lavinia stamp supplies on hand for this card so I recreated the main background in the same style but had to dig in my stash for stamps I thought would fit the design. The deer is from Sweet ‘n Sassy’s Scene Silhouettes Woodland, the foliage is from Lavinia Swirl set, Taylored Expressions Bold Branches & Catherine Pooler Beautiful Beginning. The sentiment if from My Favorite Things Fabulous at Any Age & the script stamp is from Catherine Pooler Birds of a Feather.

When you see a card or design you like, you don’t have to go out & but all the product, just shop your stash for similar items you already have.

Thanks for stopping by.

Blessings!

A Foxy Christmas with Rufus

Hi Friends!

Busy week so posting kept getting pushed aside. However if I post tomorrow I’ll still get 3 posts in this week.

About mid-September a tutorial by Jo Rice for Lavinia Stamps posted on YouTube. I haven’t played with my Lavinia stamps much & I thought this was a perfect card to recreate. Here’s my version of Rufus:

I used Rufus, Christmas Charms & Fern Branch from Lavinia and substituted where needed like the mountain stencil, moon mask, sentiment and background script with other items I already own. I used Distress Oxides for the background. Rufus will need a special home for Christmas as he took quite a bit of time to create.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Snowflake Beauty

Hi Friends!

I hope your week is off to a great start!

I spent a bit of time yesterday creating a bit of Bible Journaling & my 2nd card for Eileen Godwin’s Christmas Workshop x2.

These came out beautiful even though I wasn’t entirely happy with my blend proportions on the first card, it was still too pretty to discard so I made it into a card anyway. The 2nd card has more of the faded blend to it as instructed. I love them both. I cannot tell you the last time I made a 6 x 6 card and I hope I still have some envelopes in my stash that fit. If not I’ll be making some.

I used Sweet Poppy Stencils Snowflake Aperture Circle stencil and Lavinia Stamps Liberty Stamp with some sentiments from my Christmas stamps.

I’m definitely got the Christmas creating spirit and can’t wait to play more with my Christmas goodies. I am finishing up a fall item too.

Have a fabulous week!

Blessings!
