Birthday Balloons Slimline

Hi Angels!

Another quick post for one of the slimline cards I designed for tonight’s class.

Some fun birthday balloons! I used My Favorite Things Stamp Cloud Stencil for the background, I think the balloons are from my Penny Black set but they are part of the dies need reorganized project. The Happy Birthday is from Simon Says Stamp.

On the run the 1st couple of days this week but I have another fun slimline card to share tomorrow or Weds.

Have a Fabulous Week!

My Favorite Things Sketch 453

Hi Angels!

I am beyond tired but still headed out to the studio to play. Figured I would do a bits & pieces card ended up working this week’s MFT Sketch.

I did a play off my over the top card with the poppies from a couple of days ago. Here is what I came up with…..

Same MFT Etched Flower background but just stamped this time. I pulled a Colorburst watercolor powder scrap from my background box for the Poppy Blooms and added a sentiment from Well, Hello cut with Skinny Strips Die-namics. Overall a clean & simple, easy to create beautiful card.

Stay tuned for more stamp company fun. I do like challenges & challenging myself to create with one company’s products for a week is fun.

Find some creative time this weekend. It’s a great stress reliever.

Poppy Blooms

Hi Angels!

Thought I would pop in & post this beautiful card I designed today. I am featuring a favorite stamp company each week in September & this week it’s My Favorite Things stamps. Plus this is the final week of my 100 day Wild & Wonderful Summer posting. Today makes day 94.

I decided I wanted to play & create an over the top card today. I think this beauty fits the bill. Let’s see how I created it…….

I gold embossed MFT Etched Flower background on watercolor paper, then pulled out the MFT custom Colorbursts in Jellybean Green & Tropical Teal & had fun watercoloring. When you are playing, don’t forget to mop up the overflow, that’s how I did the shadow cut for the Beautiful Die-namics die cut.

For the MFT Poppy Blooms & coordinating dies, I used Distress Oxides in Squeezed Lemonade, Ripe Persimmon & Abandoned Coral & color blended them onto some white cardstock. I gold embossed the flowers on the ombre background. Pro Tip – make sure your Distress Oxides are dry before heat embossing.

I picked up a sampler pack of MFT cardstock & pulled out my sheet of Coral Crush to make my card base. Pictures can be difficult with so much shiny but I think this is a fair representation of the rich colors in the card.

Stay tuned here or over on my Facebook page for more inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to create this week.

MFT Camp Day 1 Watercolor

Hi Angels!

Life has been nothing but crazy lately but hopefully is slowing up some. It’s day 45 for my Wild & Wonderful Summer Challenge. I have been managing to post everyday even if it’s a bit after midnight. Of course I have always said the day doesn’t change for me until I’ve gone to bed, LOL!

I am hoping to participate all week in My Favorite Things Camp Create 2019 and day 1 is watercolor. I opted for watercolor resist. Let’s take a look….

I haven’t had a chance to play with the new Ken Oliver Color Burst colors designed specifically for MFT. There are three – Tropical Teal, Jellybean Green & Coral Crush. I chose the 1st 2 colors for my background & added in Prussian Blue. Love how it turned out.

I used MFT Friends with Fins Stamps & dies, Balloon Strings Background stamp and a Fishtail Flag Trio Die. The sea friends are stamped on mop up sheets from previous watercolor play. The mop up piece was a perfect match to the background. The picture doesn’t show it but the Balloon Strings background is embossed in a white/sparkle mix to add some shimmer to the card and provided the resist for the watercolors.

I get to put a badge on my blog everyday. How cool.

I better get my card uploaded over on the MFT blog inlinkz. I was hoping to get done much sooner but a migraine kind of interfered with my plans.

Hope you can join in the fun of Camp Create or plan a camp of your own or find a challenge for some summertime creating.
