I had a busy day today but had the joy of wishing our son & his lovely bride a happy anniversary with this beautiful card.
I used the new Pinkfresh Studio Arch Florals & Nested Arches dies for this creation. The flowers are watercolored with Gansai Tanbi pearl & gem colors. The basic white on white is elevated with the silver accents and flower highlights.
It’s been a week already & we’re only halfway through. Planning on creating when we got home from our short getaway, however home care, groceries & appointments took priority. I started this Bible Journaling page on our trip & finished it up today.
One of the ways we know we are firmly rooted & grounded is by the fruit we produce in our daily lives. Today’s verse is the Fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23 TLV
But the fruit of the Ruach is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control — against such things there is no law.
The blessing in disguise on this page came from my last event with Pinkfresh Studio as they had included one of their wonderful Washi sets called Fruitalicious, perfect for this page. Stay tuned I am sure they will release the set sometime in the future.
I used some mixed media stencils for the background, added the die cut washi tape & my verse & easy Bible Journaling.
I have events & classes every weekend for the next 3 weekends so…..there will be plenty to post & share soon.
I hope you are having a great week. We have much to be thankful & praise God for this week already.
Our week started off with a severe storm & tornado that hit our town late Sunday night, about 10 hours no power & 38 hours no internet. We are fine, our town had no serious injuries but there is quite a bit of damage. In Oklahoma we are used to such weather but it’s a couple months early this year.
I finished up my 2nd Pinkfresh class & again I absolutely love this Pure Joy stamp/stencil/die combo.
The first 2 cards are just stenciled for the images and card 3 is stamped, embossed in gold & then die cut. The versatility of the dies is fabulous. For card one I just cut the outline shape, card 2 the individual images are die cut & card 3 has both with the outline color blended by itself then the images die cut & place within the outline.
I hope you are having a great weekend. A couple days of migraines this week meant I got very little creating done. I am so happy that was not the case today for the start of the Pinkfresh Create & Connect event.
It is always fun to get to play with new products before they are released for general sale & I absolutely love the Farm Fresh Collection we got to design with for our first class.
I love how these cards have a fresh modern feel while hinting at a bit of vintage too. A mixture of stamping, ink blending, embossing & die cutting then embellishing with the new ombre Glitter Drops releasing Monday and I have a gorgeous collection of cards to brighten someone’s day.
Stay tuned for more class reveals. I will only get through half my classes this weekend because of scheduling but I have plenty of time next week to finish up all 6 classes.
I kept meaning to post but between several hours purging & sorting on Wednesday, elderly dog issues Thursday & a bit of Friday it felt like too much effort. Today I have been sidetracking a bit but got a little finishing work done on a couple of last weekends cards. Just 2 more to complete.
The fun with these cards is I had already worked with the Pinkfresh Studio Citrus Bloom stamp, die & stencil combo in a Pinkfresh event.
Fresh ideas on how to use what I already own is always a bonus. The Pinkfresh Dotted Lattice & Elongated Lattice cover plate dies are beautiful and were great to work with. We also used Pinkfresh Simple Sentiments: You stamp & dies.
I’m determined to make most of my January goals both creatively and around the house. I’ve got about 10 days to do so. No sweat.
Today’s card is a quick make. I had absolutely no idea in mind other than a short break from the Christmas cards waiting to be finished. So since I barely touched or worked with my SCT Samplers last year, I grabbed a kit, shook it out & put this card together in about 15 minutes.
I grabbed the May kit as it had this beautiful scripty diecut Sweet and decided a Valentine or love card was perfect. The kit also included samples of Pinkfresh Studio’s Happy Heart collection and these flowers were perfect for the background. I grabbed some scrap glitter paper and grabbed a heart die to add into the design, some clear confetti sequins & instant card.
Now looking at it you might think it’s off center but sometimes being off center draws the eye more and garners a 2nd look. It’s always fun to play outside the box or rules.
PS: I opted out of my SCT Sampler Subscription this year. One of my goals is to work with what I already have & I have limited myself to a couple of monthly kits & some classes & events. There were so many things I didn’t touch as it came in last year and after years of creating, I definitely have a healthy stash to work with. The events will give me new goodies to play with in addition to the kits. Hopefully my budget will thank me. LOL!
I got busy today on my first house project of the year clearing the upstairs bonus room. My goal is to have it finished by the end of January. It tends to become a catch-all year round & it actually houses an office area for hubby, our weight machine & soon our chin-up bar for workouts plus extra household supplies.
It did house my sewing area but I moved the sewing machine to the studio so I can sew on some of my paper projects. Now I just need to determine what sewing items can stay in storage drawers upstairs & which need to be in the studio.
I have about 3 new projects to get started on but I’m still adjusting to my new schedule for the year while dealing with migraines. So tonight I grabbed a UFO to finish. If you are not familiar with the term, in the crafty world a UFO is an unfinished object or project.
I had all the stamp & color work done for my bonus cards from the Pinkfresh Studio event in October but haven’t finished putting them together. This one features the Winter Foliage stamp & stencil set with the Art Deco and Large Snowflakes dies. I switched the design elements up just a bit from the original and love the simple elegance it created. Bonus, first Christmas card complete for 2023.
Look for more UFO posts throughout 2023. It’s one of my yearly goals to finish up previous classes & work on kits I purchased & haven’t done anything with yet.
I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas day and are looking forward to the New Year ahead.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this. Isaiah 9:5-6 ESV
Taylored Expressions Peace on Earth cutting plate and Pinkfresh Studio Christmas Sentiments.
Today I am sharing the last of the Pinkfresh Create & Connect cards I completed. I actually have a couple left to finish so maybe after the New Year.
This set is called Floral Bauble and included a matching stamp, die & stencil. We call these kissing balls or pomanders. Either way they are beautiful. I also used the Art Deco Frame, Snowflakes Coverplate & Kaleidoscope stencil for these cards.
Which is your favorite? I am partial to the pink one but both are beautiful.
I hope you have had a wonderful weekend. Please stay safe and warm this week with the upcoming cold snap.
I have more beautiful snowflakes to share today from the Pinkfresh Studio Create & Connect event.
While we were working primarily in blues & greens, I can see these cards done in a variety of color blends. I found it easier to color blend and then diecut the delicate snowflakes for card 1 and the vellum snowflakes on card 2 make a lovely soft background. Cutting multiple white images & then adding color is a great way to use up your scraps and using different techniques & materials for your diecuts make them more versatile & stretches your creative possibilities. These would make stunning winter birthday cards too.
