Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Stamp-a-thon Bible Journaling

Hi Angels!

Happy Monday!

I finished up the 6th challenge from the Stamp-a-thon, Bible Journaling. The lesson was on peace and I chose Isaiah 26:3

“You keep in perfect peace one whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” TLV

I did a watercolor wash background then stamped Shalom with the Sweet ‘n Sassy Curly Girl Alpha, peace with the Waymaker set, the bird is from the Beautiful Birds set & the accent branches from Fur-ever Friends. I hand lettered the remaining sentiment and colored in with colored pencils.

I have one more challenge to complete for the Stamp-a-thon so hopefully I can finish this week. It’s a busier week than normal. Stay tuned for more 3-D embossing class techniques. I’m off to do today’s homework now.

May your Tuesday be filled with peace.

Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamp-a-thon Stencil Fun

Hi Angels!

The weather & allergies are just slowing me down this week, I feel like I should have a lot more done than I do.

I had fun creating these cards but actually had entirely different ideas for 2 of them. Will have to revisit them later because they just weren’t jelling.

The 5th challenge was stencils with 3 different techniques presented and of course I did all 3.

Tone on Tone stenciling. Darker over lighter ink blending
Stencil “stamping” or what I call reverse printing
Stenciling with water over water reactive inks

I put the technique under each card. Card 1 uses SNSS Autumn Gnomes & Blessings & Thanks. Card 2 features Flowers in Bloom and card 3 Blooming Anemones. On card 3 the sentiment didn’t stamp well so I did a smaller matching piece with the same technique to re-stamp the sentiment on & added it onto the card. Sometimes it just takes a little thinking to successfully rescue a card.

I hope you have a great Friday, the weekend is almost here.

Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamp-a-thon Teabag Stamping – Glorify

Hi Angels!

Challenge 3 for the Stamp-a-thon was one I hadn’t done in quite awhile, teabag stamping. Right about now some may be asking, huh? It’s fun to see what different things you can create with & stamp on and through the years I’ve tried a lot through various art lessons.

If you are a tea drinker, like I am, you can dry out your teabags, gently open them up, brush away the tea leaves & have a thin tissue like tea stained piece of paper to stamp on.

The fun thing about this Stamp-a-thon is it wasn’t just cards. With the teabag stamping lesson also was collage & mixed media. I decided on a page in my Praise & Glory journal and dug into my collage box for my background. I used the teabag to stamp glorify from Sweet ‘n Sassy Words of Life: Actions & Flower Garden for the butterflies. I’ve been gathering verses from the Psalms as I read & chose Psalm 83:19

Let them know that You alone – whose name is ADONAI are El Elyon over all the earth. TLV

El Elyon is translated Most High.

The teabag piece is translucent on the page like vellum would be. If I can get some more of the studio in order, I’ve been toying with doing more mixed media/collage work. I forgot how fun it is to play with “outside of the box” art supplies.

With the chaos in the world at the moment it is good to remember God is above all and still in control. Praying for Afghanistan & our troops.

Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Stamp-a-thon – Blessings Mini Slimline

Hi Angels!

I was intending to post last night, then the internet went down for 15 hours after a power bump so….

I’m still playing with projects from the Stamp-a-thon Saturday. I actually created 3 of the 7 projects on Saturday & now am working on the last 4.

The 2nd challenge was to create a mini slimline card something I’d hadn’t done yet as I like full size slimlines. It was a fun change.

I used Sweet ‘n Sassy Fern Fronds Stencil, Blessings die & Blessings in Disguise stamp set. The blended die cut & stamped leaves is my first blending attempt from my deer card. I didn’t like the original order of the blended greens so I rearranged them for the deer card. I then just blended some of the colors through the stencil and added a pop of purple for contrast. My favorite color combo purple & green.

I hope your week is off to a great start.

Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Stamp-a-thon – Deer Scene

Hi Angels!

I hope you are having a great weekend!

I’ve been doing more sorting & organizing & just a bit of creating this week in the studio. Today I spent some time playing with the challenges during the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Stamp-a-thon event.

The 1st challenge was to Create a Scene and here is what I came up with.

This would make a great guy card. I used Sweet ‘n Sassy Scene Silhouette sets Trees & Woodland and the sentiment is from SNSS Beautiful Birds. The gold splatter is Gansai Tambi watercolor. You will notice my blends aren’t quite as smooth. That’s because the bottom 2 greens are Distress Oxides and the top 2 colors are Distress Inks. I will mix them if that’s what I happen to own in the colors I plan to use.

Have a Blessed Sunday!
