Christmas in July – Pine Branch

Hi Angels!

I hope you enjoyed your weekend.

I got about 3 more buckets sorted today. I was trying really hard to get the scraps down to one file container but with some of my specialty papers that cost a bit more, it ended up being 2.

I opted for a quick card this evening.

This card would make quick multiples if you wanted to do a set. I used The Crafters Workshop Fir Branch stencil with My Favorite Things Bitty Holiday Wishes for the sentiment. I used Distress Oxides in Pine Needles & Peacock Feathers for the pine needles & since I don’t have any brown oxides, I grabbed Antique Linen & Brushed Corduroy Distress Inks for the pine cones.

I have a fairly busy week ahead with some early mornings but still will be sorting & creating.

Hope your week is Fabulous!

Christmas in July – Beautiful Backgrounds

Hi Angels!

I am very much enjoying the tutorials from the Card Makers Success Summit. Today’s cards just took my ink blending up a notch.

These came out just gorgeous with rich beautiful color.

For the top card I used Distress Inks in Seedless Preserves, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire & Black Soot just like in the instructions. The only big city stencil I have is from Inkylicioius. This card uses a total of 4 stencils.

For the bottom card I used Distress Oxides in Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers & Mermaid Lagoon. The snowflake background is Penny Black’s Snowflake Pattern and the Joy is from Concord & 9th’s Full of Joy Trifold Die. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Simple Strips – Christmas set.

Tomorrow I will spend all day in the studio sorting & working on some more cards. Yay!

Gloriously 60 Day 59 – Painted Blossoms

Hi Angels!

We had a fun play day in the studio today marbling & using powdered pigments for card backgrounds & more.

Of course I had to make a card with one of my new art pieces. I used Gina K Designs Painted Blossoms & Harvest Flourish Stencil.

The actual background mat is a mop up piece from another play day with liquid colors on the Gel Press. I used Salvaged Patina Oxide ink through the stencil to enhance the background. Then die cut one of today’s art pieces to stamp the images on & pop up on the card base. Playing with color is always fun.

I hope your week is off to a great start. It’s a bit rainy here but when you play with color the sun comes out.

Gloriously 60 Day 55 Art – Ombre Butterflies

Hi Angels!

I hope you are staying cool where ever you’re hanging out at. We had a short break from the heat but it came roaring right back.

Tonight I played some more with the Hero Arts Butterfly Circle Stencil that was included in this month’s SCT Sampler.

This quick clean & simple design would make a great gift set for someone in a variety of colors with a mix of sentiments. The sentiment I used is from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

My Gloriously 60 art challenge for my 60th birthday wraps up soon but stay tuned, I have ideas already lined up for July & August.

Have a Fabulous Weekend!

Gloriously 60 Day 46 – Beautiful Sunshine

Hi Angels!

I got a bit of organizing done in the studio today putting some more of my dies in order for easy access.

My June Scrapbook & Cards Today Sampler arrived a few days ago. First it’s fabulous and second I really enjoyed creating tonight’s card.

This soft “sunrise/sunset” has a beachy feel to it. I can just see the surfers & boats enjoying some rays.

The sampler included Hero Arts Butterfly Circle Stencil. I used Squeezed Lemonade, Kitsch Flamingo & Shaded Lilac Distress Oxides. Instead of going for a full shadow for the lettering, I opted to stack the sentiments onto a black layer instead of a white layer so they stood out a bit more.

I hope there’s some sunshine in your week. Thanks for stopping by.

Gloriously 60 Day 36 Art – Pig Fun

Hi Angels!

When I saw this cute Pig Time set from Pink and Main it just tickled and made me smile. And we can always use a smile

One of the Pink and Main designers used a partially stenciled background on her samples for the set so I decided to case that technique for these cards. I used Pink and Main Daisies & Flora stencils and the pigs are colored with Prismacolors.

There are more piggies in the works. Stay tuned.

Have a Blessed Sunday!

Gloriously 60 Day 34 Art – Purple Birthday

Hi Angels!

I was finally able to catch up with a few things today after our trip including some much needed rest.

I dug into the infamous Bits & Pieces box to create today’s card.

I watched a couple of short art videos & one inspired me to dig into my Bits & Pieces box. Everything was already pre-cut, I just added a hint of stenciling to the white oval to give it a little more pizzazz. Fast & easy.

I’m hoping to spend a bit more time creating tomorrow. Hubby is still home on vacation so sometimes what I plan doesn’t match up with what he plans.

Have a Fabulous Weekend!

Gloriously 60 Day 29 Art – Discover Your Wings

Hi Angels!

Today we are in Riverton Wyoming to visit my husband’s aunt. We decided since we were so close we would add a day to our trip so we could visit, plus see a bit more of the country.

Today’s challenge card was fun to design after seeing something similar on Pinterest.

I pulled an older Taylored Expressions stamp set out called Discover Your Wings for the dragonfly & sentiment. I also used Taylored’s circle masking stencil with Pink & Main’s Flora Stencil for the background. This would look beautiful in several different color combos.

I hope you are having a great Memorial Day Weekend!

Gloriously 60 Day 25 Art – Fabulous Florals

Hi Angels!

If you haven’t seen the new card kit from My Favorite Things Stamps yet, you should check out the wonderful floral images.

Todays card features the MFT In Focus Floral Frames from the kit.

I used a stencil & Salvaged Patina Distress oxide for the background for a tone on tone effect. I then cut the florals from some watercolor background paper and added a sentiment from Taylored Expressions Simple Strips Background.

Thanks for popping in.

Gloriously 60 Day 22 Art – Birthday Diamonds

Hi Angels!

Today was the big 60! I had a quiet birthday packing for our South Dakota trip tomorrow. So ready to travel & enjoy some of God’s wonderful creation!

I think it’s appropriate that I share this fun birthday card I created today on my birthday.

I did a partial stenciling of the diamonds and then added the sentiments & bling. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Catherine Pooler Designs Little Something Sentiments set. I used My Favorite Things Stamps Anything but Basic Birthday & Bitty Birthday Wishes for the other 2 sentiments.

I hope you weekend is both fun & relaxing.

Thanks for popping in!
