Rooted & Grounded Bible Journaling 2023 #1

Hi Angels!

I have set a few challenge goals for myself this year including a least one Bible Journaling or Faith Art project each week or 52 completed projects for 2023. Since it’s the final couple of days in January, I’m a little behind the power curve on this project. Not to worry, I have some ideas and I actually hope to exceed my goal for this year. I’ve been busy establishing longer in depth Bible Study times & getting my exercise routine set.

My first page is based off my January Creative Retreat Kits Deeply Rooted study, featuring the verses from Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV.

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out it’s roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for it’s leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.

I used a combination of stencils, colored pencil work, watercolor and word/alphabet stamps for this page. The stencils were from Sweet Poppy Stencils & My Favorite Things and the stamps were from Creative Retreat Kits, Sweet ‘n Sassy and Penny Black.

Are your roots deep or shallow? It is important in our walk with God to be discerning & directly in His Word studying, seeking His knowledge & wisdom. Too many outside influences have infiltrated the “church” and there are a lot of false teachings and half truths being touted as okay.

I hope your week ahead is wonderful. Stay safe & warm.

Blessings!

Snowflake Beauty

Hi Friends!

I hope your week is off to a great start!

I spent a bit of time yesterday creating a bit of Bible Journaling & my 2nd card for Eileen Godwin’s Christmas Workshop x2.

These came out beautiful even though I wasn’t entirely happy with my blend proportions on the first card, it was still too pretty to discard so I made it into a card anyway. The 2nd card has more of the faded blend to it as instructed. I love them both. I cannot tell you the last time I made a 6 x 6 card and I hope I still have some envelopes in my stash that fit. If not I’ll be making some.

I used Sweet Poppy Stencils Snowflake Aperture Circle stencil and Lavinia Stamps Liberty Stamp with some sentiments from my Christmas stamps.

I’m definitely got the Christmas creating spirit and can’t wait to play more with my Christmas goodies. I am finishing up a fall item too.

Have a fabulous week!

Blessings!

Peace on Earth Holly

Hi Friends!

I hope you’ve had a great week!

I didn’t get quite as much creating done as I’d like after my 2nd steroid shot but it went much better this time so thankful for that. I did get some more organizing done. I am almost finished with my stencil organization & since I want to work on Christmas at the upcoming retreat, spent some time organizing my Christmas area.

My Sweet Poppy Stencils finally arrived after a 3 week trip from the UK including 12 days sitting in customs in Chicago, then took an additional 4 state tour before arriving here in Oklahoma. I got to recreate my holly card for Eileen’s class with the proper stencil and it turned out fabulous.

I used the Sweet Poppy Holly Wreath with Distress Oxides and an old SU! Christmas sentiment. It doesn’t show in the picture well but I added some accents with Nuvo Dream Drops. This stencil is made for a larger 6 x 6 card but since we were working with a portion of the stencil this is a 5 x 7 card. I don’t usually work with larger cards but it’s nice to get out of your normal creative routine/comfort zone.

I can finish up the other 4 cards from class now that my stencils have arrived. I have to figure out how to fill in the scenes on a couple since I opted not to purchase the extra stamps. I’m sure I have something here in studio that will work.

Try something outside of your normal routine this week. You’ll be surprised how it inspires your creativity.

Blessings!
