Joy To The World

Hi Angels!

I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas day and are looking forward to the New Year ahead.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this. Isaiah 9:5-6 ESV

May you walk in the light of His glorious grace.

December Round-Up Lavinia Style Birthday

Hi Angels!

Today we celebrate our oldest son’s birthday.

I loved this winter stag card tutorial I saw over on Lavinia Stamps Youtube channel and knew it would make the perfect birthday card for Matthew.

I actually had very little Lavinia stamp supplies on hand for this card so I recreated the main background in the same style but had to dig in my stash for stamps I thought would fit the design. The deer is from Sweet ‘n Sassy’s Scene Silhouettes Woodland, the foliage is from Lavinia Swirl set, Taylored Expressions Bold Branches & Catherine Pooler Beautiful Beginning. The sentiment if from My Favorite Things Fabulous at Any Age & the script stamp is from Catherine Pooler Birds of a Feather.

When you see a card or design you like, you don’t have to go out & but all the product, just shop your stash for similar items you already have.

Thanks for stopping by.

December Round-Up Snowflakes for the Angels

Hi Angels!

For our annual holiday get-together, I used the Taylored Expressions Create-in-Quads Snowflake stencil set to create cards for the Sassy Angels.

I started with a colored cardstock and layered on my snowflakes in Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet & Salvaged Patina Distress Oxides with Nuvo Glacier Paste in Quicksilver for the final layer. Silver foiled diecut sentiments completed the cards. The Create-in-Quads made it quick to produce 8 cards in a short amount of time.

Speaking of time, my days are way too busy still for all I want to play with & create with before the holidays. Isn’t that just like life?

Thanks for popping in.

Blessings!

December Round-Up More Scenic Route Creations

Hi Angels!

Today’s share is the cards from the online Stamp Joy Scenic Route class. I had lots of fun with this color palette.

I love the extra techniques we learned in this class to add that extra pop & dimension. Stencil on stencil, background stamp for texture and frame layering. I did use the same background as yesterday’s card to create a second sympathy card for a friend.

The Create in Quads certainly make it easy to create a great group of cards. These also would make wonderful gift sets. Add some envelopes, maybe a couple of stamps, a pretty ribbon bow & instant gift.

Thanks for stopping in!

December Round-Up Scenic Route Sympathy

Hi Angels!

It seems I have needed more sympathy cards than usual this year. While it’s nice to have some on hand, I prefer to create a more personalized card for family & friends.

The minute I saw the Quad Scenic Route Stencil set for Taylored Expressions Virtual Stamp Joy class this fall, I knew it was going to be a wonderful addition to my supplies. The beautiful scenes it creates are perfect for a variety of occasions. The scripture sentiment is a retired Verve Stamps.

I will be designing classes again for the Angels in 2023, just once a month, but on the checklist is sympathy card designs.

Thanks for stopping in.

Stamp Joy Elegant Cards

Hi Friends!

Today is the final round of cards from the Stamp Joy event with Taylored Expressions.

This set is a little more elegant and beautiful with ink blending.

On the first card, after ink blending through the Birds & Blooms stencil, we added some details with colored pencils to add more interest to the background. The 2nd mini slimline card was supposed to be an ink lifting technique but I didn’t have the ink so I used white pigment ink over the blending to achieve a similar look. Unfortunately for the last card you cannot see the subtle shimmer created by a light mist of Pixie Spray over the oval, while still masked, and then foiled with Decofoil.

The next few days will be filled with Bible Journaling both from my Lent studies & the Sweet n’ Sassy Bible Journaling Retreat is this weekend. I’ll also start taking pictures of last weekend’s Crop & Create cards to post in between.

Stamp Joy Mod Quad

Hi Friends!

I managed to clean up the craftermath from Crop & Create today. Now it will be easier to finish up the cards that still need finishing touches.

If you are familiar with Taylored Expressions Create-in-Quads Layerinng Stencils, we got an exclusive one at Stamp Joy called Mod.

These stencils are designed to create 4 card backgrounds and are great for gift sets. The possibilities for colors & mixed media techniques is endless, so fun! I was able to modify the last card as the sentiment didn’t stamp well the first time. I just trimmed it down to the patterned area and popped it on a card base.

Can you believe it’s almost the end of March? National Craft Month just flew by. I hope you found some time to be crafty.

Blessings!

Stamp Joy Fun Cards

Hi Friends!

I hope you are having an amazing week!

I am tired. Crop & Create for 3 days, 8 mini classes, 8 full classes, 2 make & takes & a challenge is a lot in one weekend. I completed 19 cards, have 15 cards in various stages of final touches to complete, have 5 classes to start on, 1 of the make & takes & the challenge to finish. I am thinking the challenge would be great for the month of April so I’m working on ideas for approaching that. Whew! I’ll get pictures posted as soon as I can.

In the meantime, I still have several projects to share from the Angel’s weekend earlier this month. This was the fun set of cards for Stamp Joy.

These cards are great for the young or young at heart. The llama has beautiful texture paste on it called Happy Medium from Taylored Expressions in iridescent glitter. It is stunning in person. If I had had Wobblers with me on retreat, the melon slice would have been wobbling. So cute as a mini slimline card. The hello is perfect for any occasion for anyone but would be great for a tween or teen.

I’m hoping to clean up the ravaged studio from the weekend tomorrow and complete a few of the finishing touches that need done. I have plenty to post & will strive to get caught up in the next couple of weeks. Allergies & asthma are still wearing me out, the Bradford Pears are in full bloom.

Blessings!

Stamp Joy Floral Flurry

Hi Friends!

Tonight I’m sharing the Friday class from the Stamp Joy weekend event that Pam & I did together while on our Angel Retreat weekend.

I just love how these turned out using the exclusive Stamp Joy Floral Flurry stamp & stencil set.

These cards look great both with a combination of the stamp & the stencil and the stencil by itself for that “no line’ look. I can see doing the tone on tone one in several different colors. The blue card is a unique “box” card that pops up when you open it but folds flat for mailing. Always love playing in classes for different ideas, tips & tricks.

I’m so glad my laminator held out for this class for the shaker card because on Sunday of our weekend when I went to do some more foiling it decided it wasn’t heating up anymore. I had to replace it right away because I need it for this weekend’s event. It was a weekend of tech failures for me. My headset died, the remote to the Firestick had battery corrosion that had to be cleaned & fresh batteries added and then the laminator died. Sometimes life just throws in curve balls.

Sketch Challenge – Creative Crate

Hi Friends!

During the Creative Crate event they had a sketch & welcome gift challenge going on. Since I had 2 migraines that week, I only did the sketch challenge & had to wait until voting was over to post.

I love a good challenge. I opted to design so they looked like a set.

With the geometrics elements these would make great guy cards or cards for any occasion. On the left I used Pinkfresh Studio’s Art Deco Hot Foil plate to emboss the design on the background & color in with the matching stencil set. I embossed the small triangle piece with the Sizzix Staggered Chevrons 3D embossing folder which I also used on card #2. The sentiment strips are from Taylored Expressions Simple Strip sets.

It’s always fun to stretch your creativity with something like a sketch challenge.

The weekend is almost here, do you have any plans to get creative?

Blessings!
